So is he having a positive or negative affect?

I think he has good skills but in some ways he is a bit shady as well.

Living in awstrawylia didn’t change his paki power hungry self that much.

Also the aspect of batting is quite a bit under served as well.

I think its about time we got a gora coach! someone from the outside instead of someone from pakistan

Its 80% the problems in PCB and maybe 20% team management and coaching.

He has been useful for Pakistan bowling but on top of him being bowler, he has Aaqib as assistant coach who is also a bowler. I need the mind of rocket scientist to understand this logic but I dont have that mind :bummer:

Well thats what I was saying whatever effect he had on bowlers, he has neutralized it by not having a batting coach. He has been team for long and its almost certain now that he can not help batting much.

Maybe we should get an allrounder as a coach? I honestly do think he is not a very good role model for the young pakistani team given his track record! unless imran khan decides to be the coach of this team I really don't see anyone else from Pakistan that can make much of a difference. Batting has to improve...I can't believe he was praising the team for doing a "wonderful" job against ireland...they performed well in first ODI but had Ireland posted 20 or 30 runs more on the board in Second ODI...Pakistan would've been in deep sh*t. We were struggling against minnows...that says a lot about the quality of this team and the desperate need for a batting coach!

Waqar is a typical ex pakistan player - that is egotistical, arrogant, selfish and self serving.

We should have learned our lesson from the time of Intikhab Alam, Javed Miandad, and all the other Pakistani coaches who were all busy playing favorites and causing groupings in the teams.

I am very disappointed at all these ego issues, Waqar, Afridi, Butt - each has there level of ego being employed right now.

Quite agree, all three of them have misbehaved. Butt, you don't need to say anymore, afridi needs to learn that the team is more important than himself and that issues need to be raised privately and not in public everytime things go against him. Waqar, I dont have any opinion of him as a coach, as a player he was brilliant, one of the best bowler Paksitan has produced.

I think Afridi and Waqar story is deep rooted it goes back to Waseem era,when Afridi was in Waseem team.

Waqar has his own ego problems. Lets not forget what he did with Sohail Tanvir.

Aqib is the best local candidate for coach.

I think you are mistaken. Aqib was not even in Justice Qayum's report.

Also (as everyone knows) he has had spectacular success in coaching Pakistan Junior teams.

I think His and Ijaz Ahmed's name were out there in the "fishy stuff" list from one of these more recent ex-captain's reports given to PCB. Wonder who it was?
