(About Rao)“He has brain and he uses it as well.”

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

he is the worst i have seen so far. I remember when salman butt was caught by amla at silly mid on in the last test, the replay showed that he just caught it before it hit the ground and waqar was quick to say "it definitely hit the ground, i can see that", and at the very moment others in the room were heard saying "He caught it clean", and waqar after finishing his sentence repeated their words, yes its a clean catch.. what a dumb guy...

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

^^ I don’t know if you guys have heard Zaheeer Abbas and Mustaq Ahmed’s commentary. Waqar sounds like an expert compared to those two. His English is bad, but at least he tries to analyze the situation. Zaheer and Mushtaq just state the obvious and that too in extremely poor english. See: http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=267158

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

Waqar Younis may be verbally challenged but technically he is always spot on, especially when commenting on bowling. No other pakistani commentator IMHO comes close to expressing their tech expertise the way he does.

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

Why does Rameez always call Dhoni by his FULL NAME

Good take by M S Dhoni
Intelligent captaincy by M S Dhoni

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

Ive felt that too, saying just Dhoni alone just doesnt sound right. Some people you cant just say their last name alone. Like no one would refer to Waqar Younis as Younis (and he's been around for a while long before Younis Khan showed up).

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

But you could say only WAQAR.

Actually Rameez often says not just M S Dhoni...but Mahinder Singh Dhoni.

Great hit by Mahinder Singh Dhoni

Not that I mind.....just seems a bit odd.

Wondering if he says.....Good Morning to Laxmanan Sivaramakrishnan.

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

Some individuals like to repeat the (full) names of other individuals in conversations for long-term remembrance (easily forgetful otherwise?). Meh, that could be one of the cases. It also strikes as odd as to why Dhoni would be singled out.

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

If you think about it....Mahinder Singh Dhoni is the kind of name which is asking to be called by LAST NAME....and most people do so.
.... unlike say a name like 'Sachin Tendulkar' where one could either say only "Sachin" or only "Tendulkar"

Not a big deal ...anyways.

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

For today’s zero-meter gems (cut-pieces) produced by a legend:

:rotfl::rotfl:

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

But he never calls Vaas by his full name :D

Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

feel lucky mate......... ager Waqar Vaas ka pora naam laita tu Vaas ka over commentary shuru honey sai pehlye hee khatam ho jata :)

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

I still like Waqar commentay then Zaheer Abbas & Mushtaq Ahmed. Those guys make me want to mute my computer. Thats just pathetic...and How annoying is Mushy with "Definitely"... OMG! I cant even use that word anymore after listening to his commentary during the ODI series man.... Why the hell do they hire these lallus to be commentators.

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

That’s exactly what I was going to say. Waqar’s English may not be perfect but he is distinctly better than Zaheer and Mushtaq. Waqar does make some interesting points from time to time and he usu. reads the game situation quite well.

Zaheer and Mushy are just pathetic beyond disbelief.

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

probably he is afraid that he may call him Dhobi if he calls him by his last name only? :hehe:

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

Is that the reason why sometimes you get called around by your full screen name, Khan Sahab?

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

:rotfl:

reminds me when he use to call Rana Naveed, this Rana…

this rana is bowling well butttaaaaa luck is not favouring him.

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

Dhobi bhai aap tu mind kar giey :hehe:

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

*Itney saalon sey Rameez nay **nahin **mind *kiya, meri kiya majaal.

Re: Waqar Younis Commentary:

He might not have good vocabulary but he definatly makes sense most of the time. His commentary is not bad, if you have heard Zaheer.
But anyway, if you hear these English commentators they often use the same vocabulary.
