I will highly advice against any type of wallpaper on walls as it really looks bad and decreases the value of your home. Why not go with a new paint color instead? You can check out HGTV website or go to stores such as Home Depot or Lowes and ask people who work there to give you ideas, I'm pretty you'll get help there.
why dont you go with a paint in a dark beige/sandy color and maybe add a design along the border with a stencil and spray paint - I was watching HGTV yesterday and the designer painted the kitchen a DARK PURPLE and then pasted these sticker motifs to the walls in a silver and black tone - looked awesome!
Wall paper will really decrease the value of your house.. if your looking to just find a border then thats different but otherwise i'd stay away from the papering :)
^ Stencils are a great idea if you use the spray cans! :)
If you don't have any plans to sell your home - use wall paper. There are some amazing prints out. You can even wall paper one main wall to create a different effect.
wallpapers are awesome! and they're back in style in such force- good call, muniya!
it all depends on your budget- check out benjamin moore- they collaborate with this company whose name i forget and they have gorgeous wallpaper. i love the new subtle metallic prints.
Wallpapers may be the latest trend but they are too personal so the chance of someone liking your choice is .0001% plus not everyone likes wallpaper and it costs to remove them. My hubby and I are looking for a home these days and we honestly didn't like any home that had wallpaper. Mostly, our reaction is like 'WOW,what is that!'...lol...No offense to anyone who likes them. I do think adding a border will look better but you're gonna lose some serious bucks or turn off buyers when you're selling your home if you go with full wall/room of some print that will probably go out of style before you know it!
oh, please, borders on their own are wayyy 80’s and too blah. i hate when people do baby nurseries and just plaster on an ugly animal wallpaper. it does nothing for a room, imho.
I personally don't like either but borders would be easier to remove. These things are time specific and are according to personal taste so they do decrease value of your home. If you like them so much then go with one that is easy to remove.
SGC, That's a big fat NO! :D Never paint over a wallpaper, it will always show and make the walls look bad. Always have the paper removed professionally so it doesn't damage the base coating.

I agree with you. We are also looking for our 1st home, and we have often seen wallpaper and sometimes even rejected based on that. Realtor also advised to be cautios about homes with wallpaper, often people try to hide imperfections/water damage in the walls, etc. Muniya that is not your case, but if you plan to sell these are things people may think. However I think if wallpaper is applied right to a good wall, it can be removed and wall can be freshly painted if you decide to sell your house.
4 years ago i moved in this house n there was wall paper in kitchen ,entrance n all the way in my hallway but thank god all the rooms were painted in good shades.n believe me it was sooooooo difficult to remove the wall paper n then paint.so whether u want 2 sell it or not we r human beings right we get bored n want 2 do something new n exciting all the time.so go ahead with the nice color paint so that after sometime if u ,urself want some change u can redo paint.from myside wallpaper is big no no.n yes it scares lot of buyers too.but still if u want to go with wallpaper the idea of doing one wall is good check homedepot n lowes they have somenice ones n have good price too
