we played 'sajan ghar aana tha' from i dunno what movie when the baraat came in, it was really magical, perfect timing and all. When sis came in we played 'aay ho meri zindagi mein' in the guys voice and after the photosession and dinner they both walked in together and we played 'aik din aap yoon humko mil jain gay'

On the mehndi we played the upbeat part of that song from bride and prejudice, ballay ballay when the guys family came, when sis came we played wohi din from kisna.

On valima when we came in together they played Maula mere Maula… I dont know abt the other days, apparently the CD of the songs we’d selected for our separate entrances wasn’tw orking so instead of coming into maula mere maula, some awful techno desi song was blaring.. :grumpy:

what do people think about walking into live shehnai? (if, of course, one can find a shenai player!) or... live tabla? there's something about walking into a typical bollywood song that i'm not really keen on.. i don't know why..

When I have my wedding, I would hate to enter into a bollywood song every1 knows. Even if not many people know it I still want it to be unique. No bollywood movie song. I would want an instrumental song. I would ask for ideas as I am getting married soon but this is not my thread and it wouldn't be fair to the person who started this thread so if any suggestions for a not too fast not too slow instrumental please private message me the name of the song. THANKS!..

these days we are goin thru so many songs.. since my bros n sis weddin is cummin up end of dis year.. me n my dad r jus goin thru old pakistani .. old indian new ones n jus puttin them in da right place ..

i meen ur weddin shud hve da right songs ive seen so many weddings with awful songs in it ..

well i was in pak last dec and attending barat function when the bride walked in groom was already there they played
Kesi lag rehi houn mein kahiay kia khayal hai (girl part)
bijliyan na gir parain ab to yeh gumaaan hai (boy part)
i think that was funny

i totally agree, i'm not a fan of walking into bolly songs, it should be something classy like inst or live music, bollywood stuff just comes across as tacky.. i've decided that i'm not gonna play bolly songs at all at my wedding.. just inst and fusion music.. my mom thinks that will make it boring but i don't think so..

my cuz entering song was chalte chalte n the camera man (shah nawaz) did beutiful effects like showin candles n close up of her feet when she coming..in tht scene he used the lyrics n based the song on her...
