*I think that there has been rigging, but in reverse from what people were fearing. We know that America wants to destabilize Pakistan. They are using all these suicide attacks and working with India to hurt Pakistan and tear it apart. They want to make sure to bring back the corrupt people of the past. So perhaps, there has been rigging to make sure none of the big Government figures win. How else do you explain that people like Ch. Shujaat and Sheikh Rasheed LOST in their hometowns? And all the big PML-Q figures lost in such a huge landslide? Maybe it’s just that everyone wants the corrupt people back. If that’s the case, get ready.
Get ready for Zardari and Company to rule the country. Perhaps Nawaz Sharif will become the President. Is this really what we want for Pakistan? Do you guys really think that people like 10%, Ganja, and Chota Dulha Sharif are going to be good leaders and not just repeat all the corruption and bankruptcy that they are legendary for? WAKE UP Pakistan!*
You reap what you sow... Sons of the soil want these people but it is said that other educated people also get screwed in the process in cities like karachi! :(
*everyone said musharraf could never do fair elections, where are those people now? if they are right then these results are wrong.. or if they are wrong, then this means muharraf is an honest man who stuck to his word, right? *
ASN, Ch brothers and Shekh Rasheed are good for nothing either. Lets take it only as a change of taste of mouth on the part of masses. And lets hope whoever the establishment be, they learn from their past mistakes and run the country better. You very much sound logical when you point towards PML(Q) losing this bad around.. but well, what if its really like our masses have finally got this much political awareness to kick rogues out. Cant it simply this be? I believe the most we need in this situation is Optimism and prays for our country. We aint left wiht many choices, so we have to keep positive and look towards the popularly elected ones this time for the betterment.
People did not vote for PML(N) and PPP, they voted AGAINST PML(Q) and Musharraf. (Most people voted against all that has happened, rather than anything else; just like Democrats came to power recently because the people were fed up of Republicans giving out blank checks to Bush.)
He's not as much a saint as most poeple make him out to be.
Anyone that wants to establish democracy by conducting a Military Coup, then rip apart the Judicial System, then arrest civilians and human rights activists alike, and then claim to be the Hope of Democracy, is a Hypocrite. Not an honest man.
Will he HONESTLY, leave now that the results are not 'favorable' and the people have clearly shown discontent with his rule and policies? He said he would some weeks ago...does that still stand or....has there been a change of mind?
I'm an optimistic...i feel good times r here for us now finally, Amen!. I am ofcourse nt happy abt Zardari getting votes (though i understand y he got them, duh!) cuz he is definately not some1 who is reliable or good for pak's future. But i have some hope from the sharif's brothers and ofcourse m happy that Qatil league is gone for good no matter how cute Mounis Elahi is ;).
Ok let's say you guys are right and the election was free and fair.
Doesn't this prove that Musharraf allowed fair and free elections? agar woh itna beghairat hota then he would just rig it enough to make sure his friendly party PML-Q does good enough.
Why can't you guys admit that Musharraf has done a good job here and has set Pakistan on the path to democracy? History will look back and remember him as the controversial figure who finally put Pakistan on the right track.
How can you prove that he didn't do it to save himself? It was either sweet poison or one stab...take ur pick...he obviously went with the first.
If the elections were not fair, he would have been removed one way or another. There would have been a cut in finances to Army amongst other obstacles on the international stage.
