Waiters holding umbrellas

A restaurant in Karachi showing another level of customer service. Last night when rain showered, restaurant management prepared for that. Waiters shielded dinners outside by holding umbrella.

Though food groups on social media criticized this practice because of Mughal era slavery.

Another incident when be my slave photo shoot caused anger among socialists on social media.

This photo of waiters holding up umbrellas has sparked a debate on food groups - Favourites

What do you think about such practices in today’s age?

Re: Waiters holding umbrellas

It doesnt look like they properly "covered" the food; half of the chicken leg got soggy. What a terrible customer service ;)

Re: Waiters holding umbrellas

Infuriating indeed.

I have seen worst though -- Fat pigs look alike family in McDonald enjoying their burgers while the kid mulazima was holding their baby in her lap, no stroller? just chomping away while she just sat there, made my blood boil and of course my cowardice family stopped me from saying anything because apparently that's the culture, why take the phaddah?

Right and where is Allah/Rasool kay ehkamaat or those endless hadits on how to treat other people?

Disgusting ....

Re: Waiters holding umbrellas

i dont know.. in "fancy" restaurants in india, you get like 3-4 waiters at your table, and they are all adults paid and hired to do exactly that. leftover expectations of service from british raj, perhaps. if you suddenly say i only want one waiter and minimal help, is it doing them a favor or hurting them? forget "mughal era slavery" - in today's world, would this be a problem if it were some lord and lady james of somerset were dining while his faithful butler held an umbrella over them? i dont think so.

Re: Waiters holding umbrellas

This one restaurant in Karachi is at the top when it comes to customer service.
it rarely rains in Karachi, even then this restaurant was careful enough to keep the umbrellas in stock to use them if it rains. It shows that they are well organized and care for their customers, It has nothing to do with the slavery etc. its just about customer service. Waiters are paid for their job just like any other worker gets paid. nothing disgusting about this.

Re: Waiters holding umbrellas

If the waiters are being paid for it, then I don't see anything wrong here. Nowadays we people see wrong and evil in everything. It's depressing.

Re: Waiters holding umbrellas

oki whats the fuss about it, go to any high end restaurant and they go out of way to accommodate you. people forget we eat outside for taste & service.
all the hilly-billys are jumping up and down because they eat only at fast food.

try sometime Azrak from Spain, they are willing to massage your legs while you eat. and its michelin three star restaurant
