Kaleem, despite what you may think, 'Masjid e Nabwi' is actually a masjid (surprise surprise), an that even though the Prophet's tomb is right inside it, it still doesnt stop people praying there.
Also, praying by the tomb is not sect specific, there is a hadith where Prophet (saw) stated that one of the gardens of Jannat lies between his mimbar and his house (now his grave). Hence why both sunni and shias often pray there.
And FYI, prayers are always said facing towards the Qibla, regardless of whose tomb you are visiting. Still, that discussion belongs to the religion forum, in this thread we're trying to focus on the destructive and aggressive nature of most wahabies. so lets stop diverting.

kaleem…so we came to a conclusion that there really isn’t a gunnah to pray near the grave as long as they are not praying towards the grave…these people are actually praying to Allah alone so do they really deserve to be whipped…if you were the guard working there..would you really whip them? just because some ppl pray near the grave doesnt mean that they don’t pray in the mosque near by.

In order to prevent shirk from ever occuring and keeping people on the straight path I dont see any wrongdoing on the part of the gaurds to ask people not to pray there. I still insist any one who is seen doing a sajdaa towards the grave is asking for whooping and yes I will be more than happy to oblige if asked

Well, I agree with kaleem.
One must not pray "towards" a tomb or grave.
Having said that, praying is allowed on any clean (Pak) ground surface on earth.
Its just plain simple logic.

getting back on topic - why is it ok when some sobs such as gazni mhd, gori mhd, aurangazeb et al destroyed thousands of temples but a couple of mosques are blown up suddenly it's an issue?

That’s because he hates Shias. I think earlier he justified an attack which killed 30 Shia children in Iraq who were recieving candies from the “infidel occupiers”.
It doesn’t matter if Christian preachers called Muhammad a pedophile or a terrorist. They are safe to say that in their churches. But God forbid, a Shia preacher, says something bad about Abu bakr.
