How old do you have to be to vote in Pakistan?
Can you only vote in the district/region you’re an official resident of or can you vote from anywhere in Pakistan?
Can you mail-in your vote?
Re: Voting in Pakistan
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!

Re: Voting in Pakistan
okay I KNEW this was going to happen! Everyone is going to come say their little piece about how voting in Pakistan is just joke.
I don’t care if the vote doesn’t make a flipping difference!
I’m going to be in Pakistan on election day, and I have freaking Pakistani citizenship, and I’m going to VOTE, damnit! ![]()
Re: Voting in Pakistan
The link provided by anagnorisis doesn't say anything about mail-ins, but does anyone living in Pakistan know if that can be done?
Re: Voting in Pakistan
What you mean by mail-ins? Postal ballots? I don't think ordinary people are allowed to cast votes through postal ballots. You'd be able to cast your ballot if you're a registered voter in some constituency. Having citizenship doesn't automatically grant you registered voter status.

Re: Voting in Pakistan
Oh I didn't know they were called postal ballots.

WOW...what a thing to say for a very sacred thing...one must excercise as his/her right at her/his beautiful country.
Afsoos hua...ye sunn karr.....
Re: Voting in Pakistan
Yea seriously let’s just say (and I know this is a stretch) that this particular election is the first in the history of Pakistan to atleast be a step closer to a free and fair election. Well it’s not going to work if people keep accusing the government/politicians of rigging it!
So just be quiet and vote and maybe, JUST MAYBE, it might not be as bad as it usually has been. Atleast give your own country a chance for God’s sake. People complain that Musharraf was taking too much power and now that he’s stepped down from his military position and he’s participating in an election to legally maintain his position as leader of Pakistan people STILL complain and say that he’s going to cheat!
And by the way did anyone watch his interview about an hour ago on CNN with Wolf Blitzer? He did an excellent job!
hey arjay - go musharraf, go! ![]()

Beiti...you ahve to be 18 to be eligible to cast your voe...a riht given to all to excercise for the betterment of your country.
A voter must possess a CNIC (Computerized National Identification Card) of NADRA (National Data Registeration Authority).
However..there is a special drive to register voters with their given addresses at areas etc.
On polling day....there are schools, houses etc..where the polling booths are set. You go in by showing your CNIC and after receiving permenant ink on your thumb. Thereafter, they see your nae and address on the list and give a clearance and you go in at a covered booth to cast your vote in boxes marked with candidates logo....
The sad part is that there is no proxy for the vote. If you are out of country BUT a registered voter.....your vote is lost....is you are not there.
Khush Rahein....aur ye bohat acchee baat hai k aap ko apne voter honay ki fikr hai......
