Voters of PPP

Re: Voters of PPP

What stance against terrorism? The general law and order situation in the country has been deplorable under the PPP government, to say the least. PPP has simple failed to bring peace and security on the streets of Pakistan. So what stance against terrorism? What have they done to curb sectarian, ethnic and regional violence? Are there any result of improvement in the number of death and destruction caused by the gang violence, target killings and drug/land mafia fights? That stance against 'global terrorism' is defined by the armed institution and intelligence services, Imran or Obama, they'll just follow the long term plan handed to them.

Its just so typical of third world countries where the illiterate, tribal and oppressed awam is swayed by bunch of empty of jalsa rhetorics.

Re: Voters of PPP

I've been browsing this section for past couple of days and its quite sad and disgusting to see that this section is nothing more than a dumping ground for cheap Google propaganda images, showcase to display photoshop skills and and excellent platform for trollish jiyalas slogans. No wonder there is so much political immaturity in the country.

Please direct me towards a thread where there are very much neutral conversations and discussions based on knowledge information taking place in the interests of Pakistan, than mere party worshipping which I believe is the main purpose of this section.

Re: Voters of PPP

Back to the original topic. Anyone who thinks that this BBCD would be able to connect to the masses is living in a fantasy world. The Bhutto name is forced upon him and it might get him some charity votes from the tribes of rural Sindh. There is no have he has the sincerity, mantle or even a good enough reason to appeal to the masses, who've already been the victim of their 'revenge' democracy for the past five years.

Unless his father offers his own son for another glorious shahadat, there is no way PPP can have the mass support. As the Bhutto name is not just massively used and abused by a crook called Zardari, the name is officially dead and buried for good.

PP 'vote is very much intact in Southern Punjab and Saraiki areas. I speak for one who belongs there.
Reality check, People !

Re: Voters of PPP

The PPP was once the only political force in Pakistan history because it could appeal to the masses. Every party has its own regional votes and in most cases, the 'forced' rural votes (a curse for Pakistan which could only be reversed with time and education) and PPP is no different. But the reality is, Zardari's five year rule had kick start PPP's downfall that may very well turn into its ultimate demise. Even people who generally vote for the PPP simply out of their fasciation with the Bhutto name have lost all respect and interest in the party because of its criminal and incompetent leadership.

No fresh Bhutto shahadat or a disruption in their rule caused by a military general so what could they possibly moan about in future to gain the mass 'sympathy' votes that's very much the lifeline of the party?

Their leader is The Most Hated person in Pakistan, he has power for time being but no leadership qualities to keep the party together and relevant. In fact his name has become synonymous with abuse, bacha bacha in Pakistan knows the word Zardari is a bad word with negative meanings. So its right to say, the future doesn't look too rosy for the PPP and rightly so.

For once, i am really fed up with this forced vote phenomenon. Why does everyone tend to forget their roots/customes , biraderi system, cast system whatever u call it, once u start living abroad. I mean, yahi is khitay ki syiasat hai. Education or awareness has very less to do with it. Jahan baradari faisla karti hai, vote usi ko dala jata hai. This is how it is.

Re: Voters of PPP

This is how it used to work in the West as well. But Their history has shown us that education, awareness, urbanisation, financial and geographical mobility and general improvement in the legal system is the best remedy for the curse that's known as 'biradari vote'. Many people forget that democracy is a slow and painful process but it does guarantee change (not overnight revolution) if done properly.

all we adopted frm west is so called modernism. Nothing more.
Yes, true democracy is the solution but yahi democracy to aap chalnay nahi detay, phir shikayat kesi?

Re: Voters of PPP

Who's complaining about 'democracy'?

Lol, not about democracy, about govts.

Re: Voters of PPP

Very true.

William Dalrymple: Pakistan’s flawed and feudal princess | Comment is free | The Observer

…The educated middle class is in Pakistan still largely excluded from the political process. As a result, in many of the more backward parts of Pakistan, the feudal landowner expects his people to vote for his chosen candidate. As writer Ahmed Rashid put it: ‘In some constituencies, if the feudals put up their dog as a candidate, that dog would get elected with 99 per cent of the vote.’

Today, Benazir is being hailed as a martyr for freedom and democracy, but far from being a natural democrat, in many ways, Benazir was the person who brought Pakistan’s strange variety of democracy, really a form of ‘elective feudalism’, into disrepute and who helped fuel the current, apparently unstoppable, growth of the Islamists. For Bhutto was no Aung San Suu Kyi. During her first 20-month premiership, astonishingly, she failed to pass a single piece of major legislation. Amnesty International accused her government of having one of the world’s worst records of custodial deaths, killings and torture…

lol, imported ideas .....might work for nrps.

Re: Voters of PPP

Still relying on 1995-96… slogans and lies… the hallmarks of PPP

We are unable to pay for power generation from these expensive IPP’s even today. The installed capacity is still greater than the needs but we cannot afford the oil for use in these power plante. Imagine if she could install more of those kickback laden plants!

Re: Voters of PPP

That is true to an extent. Same holds true for status quo vote banks across the country, whether it be PML-N or PPP or MQM. Their hard core voters will very likely vote for them.

However, whats different about this election is 1)addition of 45 million new voters, 2) vast number of voters who never voted in the past, 3)overseas voters (who will either travel to Pakistan, or vote overseas if provided with the opportunity).

Everyone knows that it is the voter turnout that will decide the elections, nothing else.

Re: Voters of PPP

My request to PPP voters vote for PTI in the next elections, dont waste your vote on a failing party.

Re: Voters of PPP

I like the Advertisement "Bhutto ki beti aayi thi". Irony is that PPP has nothing else to show(performance wise) during the past five years.
