There are thousands of words that went out of usage and were replaced by new words (normally from foreign languages). We discussed such words in a thread:
With the invasion of TV channels, we are now exposed to some vocabulary, which we don’t want to be used specially by our next generations. An example that comes to in my mind is words used in bollywood item songs ‘chikna, chikni, halkat, kameena, chaaloo, etc’ that I would personally wish not be used by our next generations.
Whats your view on this matter? any examples (words) that you wish to be extinct.

I want all words to make into my children heads at appropriate time, because sometimes things come in handy.
I generally speak to my Hyderabadi counterparts in hyderabadi dialect which is too ugly for Delhites to listen to, but it helps me in quickening the pace of my work.

lols. so maa behn ki gali is also just words and people over-react by being extra emotional?
maa behan ki gaali is just vented out in frustration, while being called liar is question on personal integrity.
It is part of our culture which in reality, never was a civilization :)

I kinda agree with this. People accepted some bad practices, but they don't want to called with bad-names

A child doesn't remain a child forever. Children eventually learn all those things their parents shelter them from as well learning the things their parents have no idea about. I would want my children to talk the talk and walk the walk where ever they are, to me it's a skill. As long they learn all the things at an appropriate age, know when it is appropriate to use those words and what could the consequences and impact of using those words, then it's all fine.
I am one of those people who have this opinion that swearing is fine as long as you don't swear at people, and saying that I have never swore in front of my parents, elders and children and probably never will. I can be very lady like when I want to be.
