Re: Vocabulary - not to be transferred to next generation
if puritans had their way, there wouldn't be any urdu, which itself is a khichRi language.
Re: Vocabulary - not to be transferred to next generation
Its not just Urdu that borrowed words from other languages.
The issue is not purity, its about slang, derogatory language, etc usage of which somehow has become / is considered uncivilized by majority.
Re: Vocabulary - not to be transferred to next generation
By that definition, English itself is a kichri language.

I am ok with the word gadha or kotha. But I really dislike the sound of dangar. It sounds so much worse than gadha for some reason.

I really hate the word Poondi. Until recently I didn't know what it meant. Not sure if I still understand the meaning correctly. But it sounds pendo and vulgar to me.
Also dislike the word Choor maraasi.

Poondi is simply Darshan.
Choor maraasi? You mean ChooRa maraasi?
Re: Vocabulary - not to be transferred to next generation
Pata nahi, Punjabi stage shows main suna tha. Choor-maraasi (short for Choora maraasi). I think "choora" kachra uthaane wale ko kehte hain. Right?
Aur maraasi is like malang?
Re: Vocabulary - not to be transferred to next generation
yes chooRa is lower caste (sweeper) and Marasi is gaane wala
