My gut feelings are that Viv Richard won't make a good coach. He is a legendary batsman and one of few in my favorites with Javed Miandad - the great.

Very funny and dream on. No one considers them the second best team but themselves and Afridi just reduced the next wasim akram to an effcient waterboy.

India is where the action is, commercial and otherwise. Plus Viv Richards has got in Indian wife. I bet even Woolmer after he’s done with Pakistan, might look to coach India if given a chance (which shouldn’t be a big deal because Woolmer is Indian by birth).

There is a difference between the amount you CAN pay and the amount you WANT to pay. BCCI is notoriously very miserly. Didn’t you notice, most stadiums didn’t have any shaded sections

I once met Viv in Brunei. He was humble and actually took time to talk to me in the hotel. Thus, while he'll get on in India, I don't think he would make a good coach, as most superstars never really do succeed in that role.
Good luck to him though.
As far as Greg Chappel is concerned, I read he wasn't going to hold his breath coz he was messed around by the Indians last time, and will not contact them on this issue.
