I think Dave Whatmore is the likeliest coach right now. Indian board will appoint a proven coach and wont follow trial-and-error appraoch which will be case with Viv.

I always thought Steve Waugh will be the next coach for india. Not only he has close ties in calcutta but also he was consideing to be a coach. Yes he is not a proven coach yet but one day he will make a great coach.He is a very smart cricketer.
