Vitamins

Where was that thread we had a while ago on Centrum being haraam and which vitamins use non-pork gelatin?

Re: Vitamins

what de fudge  centrum’s haram? :teary2: wut am i gonna do now

Re: Vitamins

:smack:

Yeah there was a thread on it, and apparently, most vitamins have gelatin in them that is pork-derived. I think they use it to make the capsule, or to keep the vitamins together (for multivitamins). Centrum was really great. 1-a-day has the same problem. They use porcine gelatin.

I tried looking up kosher vitamins and vegan vitamins but the brands I get are not available here, and they are heavily overpriced (because they know vegetarians, vegans, and others with dietary restrictions are going to buy it anyway).

Re: Vitamins

that’s horrible, har cheez main gand ghol dete hain. would you happen to know the names of those vitamins that you tried looking around your place? i might try to find some also. and yea i know what you mean, i take osteo bi-flex also (i hope that’s not haram either) but that one is expensive also

Re: Vitamins

chorni

Re: Vitamins

which ones?? the centrum?

Re: Vitamins

No the bi flex???

Re: Vitamins

Re: Vitamins

Most vitamin's are labelled if they are vegetarian or not , check the label b4 you buy.

Re: Vitamins

Do your knees hurt or are you taking
em as early preventation ???

Re: Vitamins

yea i had problems with my knees few years ago so my doc told me to take it...to build cartilage n stuff

Re: Vitamins

bump so which vitamins are good and not haram??? any names?

Re: Vitamins

I'm still looking for some economic mainstream brand that is kosher/halaal. I don't think there are any. You'd have to pay a whole lot of extra money to get the Vegan or Kosher ones.

Re: Vitamins

syapa :(

Re: Vitamins

If they are being used for medical purposes, and there is no alternative available (or too costly for u), then they aren't considered Haraam.

Re: Vitamins

chorni
check your PM. :)

Re: Vitamins

Edit.

Re: Vitamins

you folks might find this helpful…halal and cheap

Re: Vitamins

No. I am sorry, but I do not trust vitamins made by some muslim company. Even though I know lots of professional muslims, there are way too many lazy bum muslims out there.

Re: Vitamins

is this international -a- phenomenon?
