Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
yes...but making a list now.....:/
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
Honestly, you get everything over there. Technically you don't have to take anything for long term supply.

Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
nadz ....would u be travelling to KARACHI ?
Honestly you don't need to take anything. If you will be in Karachi then I an give you details of places where you can find all the stuff for your baby.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
baby cloths and loads of them, I dont like the baby clothings you get there, at least I didnt find a single shop where it was the same as here.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
Baby shop , minnie minors & zubaida's is loaded with outfits & other accessories for infants and toddlers.
Baby shop mostly have clothes imported from USA and UK .
Zubaida's have clothes imported from all over the world.
Minnie Minors is a local brand for children by Bareeze' and I personally find their stuff better than any other and if I am correct they also export to UK.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
I think nowadays you can pretty much buy all baby essentials from there. Formula, nappies wipes. I did take baby food for my DD becaue there are some that she liked alot so if I ran out I wasn't sure they would have them there and I was glad I took them becasue not all the heinz flavours were available.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
dunno about Karachi, but there are mothercare outlets in Lahore
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
I have heard that most of the brands are available there, but I have also heard that often they are not the same in terms of quality. I've heard family members complain about diapers in particular. I think I would take everything related to food, skin care, and diapers that I could manage.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
my husband said pampers are availble there?
il have to squeese in baby food, pampers, and wipes....what about medication.like calpol, infacol?
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
Nadz, you're moving to live here's, so you can't take enough stuff to last you forever, just enough to help with the transition. According to my mumanis, "take your own diapers." at least take some. Eventually you'll have to start using their stuff.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
What baby food do you need tomtake nadz? Your daughter will probably only start having solids in the spring. You can start her on stuff there. Or make your own; it's not too hard.

pampers are available and just to make you happy they are NOT MADE IN PAKISTAN. They are imported from KSA.
Calpol is easily available and rest of the foreign made medicine are also available in big medical stores. Believe it or not I got infacol for my daughter from here and I did not even have to search for it !
Wipes are also available . Jo brand mangogi mil jaye ga ! Even the smallest general stores have diapers and wipes etc.
Baby food is also easily available. Bottled/jar food , cerelac (imported & local made) , rusks etc everything.
Nadz your posts make me feel that we Pakistanis are living in jungle and we junglis dont even know anything about wipes , diapers etc
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
Since you will be moving for good , then you do not need to take anything. Whatever you take will be gone in few months. You cannot haul along a boat load of stuff to last you for the baby's growing years.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
Most of the things you get can there. Even the local diapers brands are fine to use. Maybe things like formula and other transitioning foods for the baby.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
My daughter got a horrible rash from the imported pampers (made in KSA), I found a Chinese brand in Zubaida's mothershop that was much much better than pampers. I wouldn't recommend those pampers for babies with sensitive skin.
You don't really need to take wipes... paper towel (doesn't disintegrate like toilet paper when wet) dipped in water is definitely better for your baby's bottom (I do that at home even here in USA). For use outside home, you can buy wipes from there.
Imported medicines like Infant Tylenol are available in Karachi, I don't know about Peshawar.
Re: vital baby stuff to take to pak..
^yeah, wipes are not needed. I usually take my daughter to the sink or use a cotton swab of some sort to wipe with water. Wipes can make sensitive skin worse. Just take them for rare occasions.
