my hubby is currently in London this week for work. What are some things I should ask him to bring back from the UK that are hard to find/expensive here in the states?
so far I can only think of asking for tea/tea bags and cadbury chocolates.
You can buy a tea/coffee serving set with matching appetizer plates? I'm guessing with the tea culture there these can be found easily, and in good variety.
You can also ask for a UK brand designer bag.
These are the two things I may have asked for...
I know my cousins visit from the UK and shop for perfumes etc. here in the USA because they find the prices more approachable.
thanks :). i'm definitely asking for chocolates and teas. not sure if hubby will do well picking out a designer bag for me or even a tea set so i won't take the risk :).
ferrero rocher is readily available and cheaper in the US (compared to what i saw in dubai, singapore and pakistan).
hubby has already stocked up on different varieties of cadbury chocolates.
when you said crisps, i thought you were referring to crispy chocolates (as in those with rice, lol). we call crisps "chips" here in the US (...and you guys refer to fries as chips!)
walkers is the equivalent of lay's here in the US. will ask hubby to pick up a few!
Chocolate !!!!
Cadbury chocolate bars ( I don't think you can get this in usa ) e.g flake , buttons dairy milk , wispa, fudge , eclairs , curlywurly
terrys chocolate orange
boxed chocolate like thorntons , quality street, celebration , hereo etc
you've got to try hotel chocolat. It's amazing..
Clothes. Some shops I don't think you get in USA : primark , new look , Dorothy Perkins , peacocks , miss selfridge
Make-up . MUA and sleek products. Have a look in boots and superdrug.
I just got back from London, and I'd suggest you ask your husband to pick up some biscuits from Marks and Spencer....I don't think you can find anything like the rich tea biscuits/bourbons/chocolate covered shortbread etc found there in the US. I also picked up some cookies from Ben's Cookies (I'd recommend the dark chocolate ones). If you're interested in stationery, ask him to stop by Paperchase, they have some cute stationery as well as small household items.
I really like Turkish Delight chocolate and Smarties. Ready to make desserts in packets like Yorkshire Pudding and Angel Delight. Also little souvenirs like double decker bus models, guards outside Buckingham palace etc,
