I wonder if you guys have a similar routine. As we come to know it, modern day technology gives us no choice but to use it’s gadgets to check up on daily tasks, appointments, to do list, etc.. I often find myself waking up in the morning and checking cnn-.com just to see what’s going on around the world. I also visit youtube.com to see the top videos, including but not limited to games, trailers, etc.
Do you guys visit a website early morning? 1st thing? What is it?
maybe i’m missing out on something important. Also i forgot to mention engadget.com (big gadget freak)
Re: Visiting a particular website in the morning (like coffee?)
Dude, Rocky, it’s amazing how much stuff you and I have in common, I wonder if we are lost brothers from “kumm ka mela”
Anyway, I visit CNN in the morning as well. Not only do I visit it, I have subscribed to the RSS Feed and I get instant updates on my work e-mail. If I find anything really interesting, I would click it and read the details, otherwise I will visit the website at lunch and read all news in details. Other than news, the first 2 websites I visit each morning are gmail and my bank/credit card account.
lol maybe we'll bump into each other one day at a mela and start dancing like amir khan and his brother from the movie mela which was the worse thing i ever saw in my entire life. It's so bad I want to kill myself just thinking about it.
Re: Visiting a particular website in the morning (like coffee?)
Ah, work email first, only scan the subjects just in case all hell is breaking lose. Then I get some coffee and read CNN, arstechnica, broadbandreports, GS, facebook, and finally myspace (yes I have a myspace page because some of my family/friends are myspace people and some are facebook people).
Then at about 9:30 ish I make the rounds, walk around and talk to various people around the office about absolutely nothing important. Then at around 10:00 I settle in for an hour of hard work. Around 11:00 I do second rounds, these rounds mostly involves finding out who is going to lunch and where we're going. From 11:30 to noon I work hard again. Noon to 1:30 is lunch, sometimes we take my DBA's boat out on the lake (campus is RIGHT on lake Seneca), and we bring sandwiches and drinks, it's nice to be out on the water for lunch.
1:30 back in the office, about 2 and a half hours of solid work and then around 4:00 more rounds but these rounds are work related usually, by 4:45 laptop is packed, keys in pocket and I start my walk out the building and stop and chat with people on the way, out the building by 5:15.
Sorry, you only asked for morning routine but there's so little in my day I thought I'd share :D
Re: Visiting a particular website in the morning (like coffee?)
I start my day with “Word of the Day” from dictionary.com and then visit Flickr.com see some beautiful pics… and then shoot up my RSS Reader which has feeds from Google Tech News, Yahoo Tech News, Wired News, Digg.com, Science Fair, TechCrunch, Mashable and Milw0rm. There’s tons more but thats all personal
