Visiting a particular website in the morning (like coffee?)

good for you!

Re: Visiting a particular website in the morning (like coffee?)

this is very interesting post lol i have been thinking of making my morning routine better.. interms of which sites i visit and how relevant is their content..

i have atleast 20 websites that i regularly read.. they are tech, blogs, politics, entertainment related.. + a few news sites here and there.. all in all this takes up 1 hour of my morning work lol with my good faithful tea in hand this helps me wake up..

But i am finding it a pain to browse through all these websites every morning to find information..

Shikra bhai, which RSS reader do you use?

Re: Visiting a particular website in the morning (like coffee?)

wow some websites i've never heard of... I've never gotten into this RSS FEED thing even though I can see it being quite useful but I've never really liked the idea unless one of you convince me on how it's a benefit of actually using it.

I 1st check my work e-mail. Then stroll down to cafeteria for breakfast/coffee/tea and back to more e-mail, some work...get thru major issues. Then I check cnn, msn, gupshup and sometimes various online local newspapers. And of course we do searches on the latest gossip news...or whatever everyone is talking about over coffee :)

Though you asked Shikra, but I'll take a stab at it. From my own personal experience with RSS readers, I would say go with FeedDeamon, why?
1. Its free, you can't beat free.
2. Hands down the most popular and stable rss reader.
3. There is MAC version available, NetNewsWire, if you ever want to move to MAC or have a MAC, you can easily synchronize feeds.
4. NewsGator, the company that makes FeedDeamon, also provides an online RSS Reader, which keeps track of your subscriptions online but you have to create an account with them. If you give away your laptop or buy a new desktop, you don't have to worry about re-subscribing to those feeds again. Simply install FeedDeamon and it will synchronize your online subscriptions with your client on the desktop.
5. If you are at University or a trip and don't have access to the FeedDeamon, you can go online and read your feeds online. One you have read the feeds, they will synchronize back with all your clients.

oh I was actually in the queue to pay my internet bill and there were a few demo workstations on the side. I fired up the browser and checkout out Yahoo Tech News and Google Tech News. After a brief look, I closed the browser and got back into the queue. Now shortly after a girl accessed the same demo workstation and she accessed Facebook and moved on. After her there must have been few other girls that I noticed and all of them accessed their Facebook accounts only. Amazingly, it was the only thing they did. They didn't check anything other then Facebook.

Moral of the story, Girl are more likely to be Facebook addicts then guys, we are traditional and hang on to our drugs :D
