First of all, the women I spoke to were recently immigrated from Pakistan. They didn’t know very many families from here, and they certainly didn’t know any girls who were born and raised here. Their social circles were still limited and so they were still brainwashed with the “American desi girls are bad” mentality. When they meet me, they find out that their thinking was wrong all this time.

1. Yes there are some girls who will have goray boyfriends, but it’s few and far between. The majority of girls I know and grew up with were very good girls who wanted to get married to a desi in an honorable fashion. I also wouldn’t judge the girls who do have boyfriends. Many of them have tried very hard to get married in the traditional fashion to a desi, but often times, desis reject them, leave them, etc. Sometimes, being with a gora is a last resort. But like I said, most desi girls here are very much into maintaining cultural ideals when it comes to marriage.

2. I’ve never had anyone deny being Pakistani. Some will say “people say I look Arab or Persian” but that’s just to show off at how fair complected they are (again, a holdout from the Pakistani mentality back home).

3. Puhlease, polygamy is a totally different ball game, nothing to do with being born here, and no right minded woman likes to share her husband. How come every woman in a polygamous marriage in Pakistan (or anywhere for that matter) is miserable? Would you like your dad to come home to your mother with the news that he married another woman. “Sunnay, I brought you these ladoos. Mainay doosree shadi kar li hai. My new wife is 25 years old and thin and you better treat her like a sister.” Or if two rishtay came for your sister, one from a single bachelor and one from a man who already has a wife, who do you think your family would pick? Even the Prophet’s (saw) wives (RA) had trouble getting along with each other. Don’t bring up polygamy–it has nothing to do with this thread.

I see someone like you, and I can’t help but shake my head. Really, to be that ignorant and limited in your thinking. Perhaps you hang around with the wrong crowd or something.

So, you agree there are some grils who are into pre-marital relationship. Ironically, just last week a Pakistani girl joined our university(she’s a friend of my friend) and she speaks Urdu in angrezi accent..She lived in Abu Dhabi and UK all her life.. We welcomed her by cooking Pakistani food for her in my friend’s apartment.. We were surprised to find out she drinks and she has favorite drinks she wanted us to buy.. wth! Plus, when we were discussing about her private life, she quipped, “I like sex but only with close friends..”.. We were surprised.. Khuda khair karey.. I was becoming interested in her but then I said, tauba, tauba. For sure, a lot of Pakistani girls become modern after moving to the west and find Pakistani traditions and customs stifling… Please dont take it otherwise.. I know you are nice.

1. Why is that having a gora bf considered an asset among desi friends and they tend to show to poor desi singles at dance clubs etc.. they try to show they are frank and up-to-date and that they dont need to hang on to a desi guy to feel secure.. meaning they can find their own way

2. People always compliment me by saying I look Italian or Greek but I smile and say I am Pakistani from both inside and outside.. I am same that way like you.. I wonder why no one says the same to Indians in our university See, only us Pakistanis are mistaken.

3. Thats not polygamy.. polygamy is a western concept and Pakistani society has no place for it..In Islam, having more than one wife is considered okay and most of the times good. My dad didnt marry more than one wife but 4 of my dad’s 9 brothers did.. one of them who is in Riyadh has 4 wives.. and I haven’t heard either him or anyone of his wives bad-mouthing about the situation.. Dont you think it is wonderful to share your household with your sister? Aapko itna aitraaz kiyoon hai:confused: I have seen most of the femal guppies hate the concept.. aisa kiyoon? Are we Pakistanis becoming too modern. I go to a convenience store nearby our college and there’s a Pakistani guy.. He’s 23, married and successful. He was telling me that his wife is putting pressure on him to get married again and he’s left with no option. Only in India they are afraid to marry another wife because they can’t feed many wives That way Pakistani is way better
