Haven’t watched tendulkar at his best. No one comes close to Sunil Gavaskar in Tests. As stated earlier, his name was synonymous with the phrase “chanceless century”. He often would carry his bat. Without offering a chance. And st times without getting beaten! Gavaskar getting beaten was news.

As opening batsman he was the best player of pace. He was a great Hooker of the ball. But eliminated it for sake of team.

And he was a great player of spin. Using his feet.

Absolutely. If Dravid was the Wall, Gavaskar was like The Great Wall of China. So difficult to dislodge. He had some wonderful duels with Imran Khan. IK got him the most times (18) in his career.

However not so good in ODIs. Gavaskar once made 36* as an opener in a 60-over match !!! (if I am not mistaken).
