Since when did Afridi (I will give my wicket in teh first 9 balls), become a batsmen. We will be playing India and Australia, not Holland and Kenya.

good to see afridi coming back and salman butt getting a place in the team.
Afridi has a good record against India. I'm not sure if he's learned anything from his experience but what the hell. I'm sure Afridi will do a lot better than Imran Nazir. He'll be a usefull all-rounder.
Imran Nazir's current batting form is horrible. So he himself opened the door for salman butt. Danesh was not doing great wonders with the ball either, so at current bowling form he is about the same as afridi as both are leg-spinners. However, afridi can bat, and with his batting even if he wins one/two matches, that puts him way above danesh. I think this is the reasoning behind these selections. Very interesting.
can't complain about the team. I am willing to give afridi a chance.
I have tickets!! ![]()
… but I’m not going (will be in Engurland; yes I know great timing
)
So I gave the tickets to my brothers ![]()
:love:Shahid Afridi:love:
ME TOO!!! Can’t wait…![]()

Well said.
well afridi is not replacing imran nazir, he is replacing danish kaneria
its good that pakistan is getting 2 in 1,
bowlr and batsman
danish can only bowl not bat but afridi can do both,
i wish him good luck
lets jus see wat happenes...if afridi has a good game against aussies...no 1 will be complainin...so lets jus see
Ehsan Bhai,
IMHO, I think Afridi is basically being brought in as a bowler, with a thought that if he can stick around for even 10 overs, he can really score some big runs.
Which has been the trend of latest matches (Big Scores)
Aap ka kya khayal hain???
I dont think Afridi is going to open cuz we've got enough openers in the team already.. and specially in english batting conditions he will never be able to do what he does normally..
Afridi is a good selection to be there as a replacement opener in case Yasir Hameed and Imran Farhat are injured. If the openers don't click even then I wouldn't put Afridi to start out innings. He should only be there as a raplacement as we saw what happened to India when the ran out of players to replace Laxman and "Baby Patel" ended up opening the innings for them. Shoaib Malik is doing just fine as a bowler and is a genuine batsmen so we don't really have a need for another spinner. I hope Pakistan would emerge as the surprise winner of the tournament and beat India and Australia comprehensively to stir up things right before the ICC champions trophy( and also because I am paying $99 bucks to watch the darn thing). Poor Rana will have to wait for a while before he gets another chance and I hope he won't be bowling to Sehwag any time soon....poor guy!!
Afridi is Back!
But no mention of Umar Gul anywhere?

Throw away his wicket ....... that's what he normally does (apart from the odd good score in every 10th outing) ...... believe me in English conditions it's even easier for him to throw his wicket away

We all ready play two all rounders therefore I don't see the need for another one, especially as he is nothing extra ordinary, he is not even ordinary.

10 overs tak to afridi test me bhee na rukay....
what PCB hopes from his is that on a lucky day we will have afridi score 29 from 10 balls and hence bring down the morale of the bowling attack and give some confidence to the other opener....
and if anyone hopes he'll be around for more than 10 balls, then he is just to optimistic....

Ehsan bhai, Woolmer always insisted on playing all roudners when he was incharge of SA team and he stated that he wants another all rounder in the team. Whether Afridi gets a chance in playing eleven remains to be seen. I would have liked to see Afridi in place of Younis Khan but with Moin Khan in terrible form we probably need Younis Khan to strengthen the middle order.

I second that ! - not that I think either one is better... iss liye they're substitutable (ouch! :))
