I am sure they will appeal in high court and then in supreme court. I hope that both the courts wrap up the appeal process as quickly as possible. If this goes like other appeals goes, it will take 10-15 years for final final verdict.
On sub note, I want process of appealing to supreme court (on criminal cases) dumped all together. Supreme court should deal with non criminal cases only (related to law and constitution). Appeal to High Court should be the last appeal stage for criminal cases.
the the victim's family is happy with the verdict so we must be happy as well...the grand father spoke from the depth of his heart...poor soul! :( i wish no grandpa has to bear the burden of janaaza of his grandchild. it's heart wrenching to imagine how this old man bore the sadness as a result of their NOT one but two decent Haafiz e Qur'aan grand children who were brutally not only savagely beaten to death but their bodies were brutalized as well in such a horrible circumstances. my hat's off to this grandpa for the dignity with which he addressed the media today.
It is never good to celebrate death of anybody , but I am happy on this decision . I was so terrified and dumb founded after viewing all that on youtube.
i'm worried that somewhere from this court to the final destination, the supreme court, the convicts may escape final punishment thru loopholes in the justice system...i sincerely hope this will NOT happen. aameen
-7 have been sentenced to death
-5 received Life
-3 policemen got 3 years each
-5 have been acquitted**[/QUOTE"]
In reality, it will be like this:
7 Sentenced to 10 years (“pardoned” on Eid after 5, maybe sooner)
5 Sentenced to 5 years (pardoned after 3)
3 policemen suspended (reinstated after a couple months)
Rest acquitted
May Allah bless Muneeb and Mugheez and give them highest place in jannah and hats off to their families/friends who stood strong and kept the hope alive during this tough one year. Alhumdulilah justice ihas been done! Pakistan Zindabad!
Ok the verdicat says that 7 sentenced to death, 4 times each ..
there were only 2 victims, then why 4 times?
i'm NOT sure but i think they were also tried under 'terrorism laws' and they received separate death sentences. let's see if any1 else has some other info.
