Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

SGC, this is not EXACTLY u/the topic but do you have any idea how those net saris accommodate a velvet pullo, the ones very much in vogue these days..

Will attach the pic too.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

applique, perhaps, rather than a piece of velvet? a friend of mine just bought this gorgeous ivory chiffon sari with gold velvet appliques in a damask pattern along the edges and the pulloo. its beautiful and i guess it gives the chiffon, or in the case of the net, more weight without being so heavy that it drags the lighter material down.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

in all the images the velvet lehenga looks stunning because it's used as a contrast and accent, plus it's visibility is limited because of the long shirts hence it's looking beautiful. If done in a similar way , then yes :)

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

velvet is SO in - but it's usually used either to create a design on the fabric itself or as an accentuating contrast. Dark velvet looks especially stunning with gold! However, design and fitting is essential (like so many others have already said). If you are going to incorporate velvet into your wedding dress, you need a well experienced designer to do it! It can look either fab or completely drab :S

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

yes you're right and i dont want that look since i'm not skinny (not overweight either)

I quite like velvet, and it can look nice but having said that I think only a very few can pull it off. I personally wouldn't go for it because I think it adds pounds onto you which isn't a good thing if you're wanting to look slim.
