Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

hey peeps.. want your opinions about wearing velvet lehnga with chiffon shirt and dupatta.. what do you guys think

Wedding is going to be in winters

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

no... i don't think it will have the flow you need for a lengha. I would not go for it.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

i have seen her a skin shirt n dupata n in shifon wth blue velebet lengha n it was looking v nice

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

I doubt if velvet would have the same effect as that of a banarsi lehnga.
Banarsi Jamavar is what mostly I have seen for lehngas.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

def a :nono: for any season other than winters!

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

thanks guys seems like more votes are for no?

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

no...no velvet for a bride.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

I quite like velvet, and it can look nice but having said that I think only a very few can pull it off. I personally wouldn't go for it because I think it adds pounds onto you which isn't a good thing if you're wanting to look slim.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

A velvet lehnga would take velvet back to the 90s where it just managed to emerge from. Also dont like velvet shirts with minimilist booties on it.
I feel it looks nice and modern when blended* into* the design asthetic or accentuating something.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

I think a slim girl can carry a velvet lehnga off well.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

a velvet shirt with fitted sleeves will look nice....
but not lehenga....

I've seen a rana Noman bridal. Velvet kameez, chiffon dupatta and jamawar lengha. Loved it. If you like it then go for it and I think it would look lovely in winter.
Not sure how a full lengha would look in velvet. Seen it done with a velvet trim and accents and that can look really nice. Also seasonal I guess.

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

velvet lehnga look fabulous ..it is chiffon shirt and lehnga in velvet and chikenkari duppetta

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

Wellceyrun velvet is beautifull fabric.ifu r going to get marriedin
winterz then go for it either shirt or lehnga.
Yes from my side

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

I THINK ITS DEPENDS THAT HOW U CARRY THAT

Re: Velvet Lehnga - yes or no?

velvet is lovely and it has fabulous drape if you go with the right weight of velvet. however, i think a silk shirt rather than a chiffon shirt would look better. you can also do a banarsi jamavar bottom and do a fitted velvet shirt. a friend of mine had that combo at her wedding and it was gorgeous.

not a fan of the colours and kaam here, but all velvet also looks lovely- http://theheer.com/store/product_images/m/079/BW6892_Black_Sharara__83542_zoom.jpg
i think this dupatta is silk.

silk shirt, velvet lehenga- http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NMn4Msfo3KM/TSOK3_quePI/AAAAAAAAA7c/Lts_aILmKUQ/s640/shaadi+(14).jpg (i think ghararas have better flow/drape and more grace, personally)

with a long shirt-

as with every outfit, but especially bridals, fitting is key!

not lehengas but you can get ideas of how things look in velvet from these:

this is GORGEOUS- http://2.bp.blogspot.com/__xXsCu8NDiw/TKhlJ-Wu8ZI/AAAAAAAADjg/yKq3snPAvn8/s1600/Nadia-Hussain-Capri-Pant-Sa.jpg
mostly silk with that band of velvet. so you can incorporate velvet into your outfit without it being all velvet.
