This is indeed very wrong. One has the right to choose what to wear... Similarly maybe KSA should also try and moderate itself as far as the dress code is concerned. Veils shouldn’t be an obligation similarly they shouldn’t be banned in GB. Its really sad in either situation ... one where its not allowed and the other where its necessary.
Really, I might be wrong but my understanding is that a woman has to be covered up in KSA. Correct me if I am wrong I only know abt the place from people who have been there.
Isnt that close to dictating what one needs to wear and what not? You and I both know its not just regular cover up... its pretty strict along the lines of what Islam says.

hahaha...it's only to ensure tht ppl @least wear decent clothing..........n not walk half naked all around...like ppl do in other countries......they r only obliged to wear an abaya..... the hijaab or the niqab is an individual's own choice.. n this obligation is supposed to be expected...since saudi arabia is a holy place(makkah n madinah)
These are Christian countries (Kaffirs) and even though they have announched they will be governed in a secular way - this is their privilage & their stated government way. Yet they too have some people who are opposed to this view eg extremists.
" Be in Rome as the Romans are" - is a old proverb. Appreciate the good these countries have. Just imagine the same in Muslim countries, especially Saudi Arabia - where there is a ban on non muslims congregating & praying. The Talibans even destroyed the statutes of Lord Bhuddha.
Before you point a finger at someone - look at yourselves, how tolerant are you of other faithers, heck even some Sunni are intolerant of Shias & vica versa ( the poor Ahmediyas etc are treated much worst)
Stop you guys. Have you ever talked to a burka/veil wearing women lately? One of those with only eyes (or sometimes not even eyes) showing up? It's totally weird social situation. You don't know how to interact with such a person. The other day I watching this lady on ARY giving lecture to room full of similiarly veil claded ladies and it looked so weared (pun intended). You could not focus on what she was saying except to get weird vibes of room full of "daakoo ranis" hiding behind veils.
Women today need to interact fully with world outside in their social or professional capacities and interaction big time involves body language + facial expressions in any normal conversation otherwise it weirds out majority of the rest. So if you gotta stay home then fine wear that clothe all you want but if you're out there teaching a class in front of kids who normally see a more approchably cladded woman than don't expect them to listen to you with full attention.
Its up to the woman if she wants to wear a veil or not, if someone feels uncomfortable about it, they can get lost! They should also take things further and get rid of any communicator that doesnt show a face eg telephone, computer etc...

It feels so difficult in understanding your post because i cannot see your face!!!
No, woman needs to get lost if there are 50 students in the class feeling uncomfortable vs one single woman. Why do majority of the people have to put up with it if the social situation in question involves a close environment like professional interaction/communication?

..similarly then a teacher shouldnt wear a skirt infront of young kids..boys might not "listen to her with full attention"
Allahhu Akbar, "inna lillahi wainna ilayhi rajiaaoona". Wait until someone say that why does she has to wear it, if she has to be so religious why she doesn't move to an islamic country or sit home.
Those kafirs are animal, they have no respect for anyone, and they always bring the issue or "racism", "descrimination", "freedom of religion and expressions" but when it comes to muslims then muslims are terrorists and exteremists.
But what's the point of blaming others when it's our own fault for being the "slaves" of kafirs.
May Allah Subhaanhu Wa Ta'ala protect all the muslims sisters around the world from those fealthy animals.
Hey Roman, Have you ever bought any thing online? If the answer is yes, than, where was your interaction/communication crapola? It is the exact same thing...you do not have to see here face to interact with her. If you insist, than problem lies within you....not the one who is obeying Allah's law.
Since when were the children uncomfortable? The woman lost her job because of zealot politicians and racist people who decided for the kids. Thier plan is to distance children from other people at a young age so that when they grow up they become narrow minded and intolerant. Funny how some teachers wear skirts and tight blouses and are accepted, then again if you look at the way some of the parents dress or allow thier kids to dress its not suprising...
Exactly.. and it shouldnt be forgotten that decency is a variable which depends on the culture one is talking about. KSA ensures decency according to their culture. It doesnt make it decent in the eye of the rest of the world.
My argument would still be, England shouldnt dictate the dress code and KSA should also step into the 21st century and for once let its people enjoy freedom!
