Veil snatched from Muslim woman

**A Muslim woman’s veil was snatched from her by a man who shouted racist abuse at a bus stop in Liverpool.

Okay that was just plain ugly. I cant even imagine what kind of emotional trauma the sister would have gone through.

Their hate for everything that is truely Islamic, is emerging and muslims need to wake up and smell what’s cooking.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

No point posting it here akhiy, I can predict the La'nati Moderate Munafiqeen will hold the sister at fault for wearing Hijaab and being Muslim.

Hatred for us and our Deen is definitely on the rise, makes me sick to the stomach, every newspaper I opened today was filled with the most ignorant and hateful of things about my blessed Deen and my people, it was attacking the Niqaabi teacher sister because her husband resembled one of the 7/7 bombers in looks, being Asian and wearing casual clothes.. It didn’t even spare the Tablgihi Jamaat, it said they are one of the most extremist/terrorist/radical-movements, LOL which is the most ignorant, biggest BLATANT LIE I have ever heard, these journalists think they’re all scholars and ‘know it alls’ on Islam when they don’t know **** all except munching bacon and drinking fosters. Our Mosque is run by Tablighi Jamaat and they never ever mention politics or war (not to say they don't care about the Ummah but they concentrate on bringing people to worship), they are concentrating on bringing Muslims back to their Deen and giving them a stronger identity that’s all, they’ve brought Muslim kids who were destroying their lives on drugs and 'gold digger' Kafir women back closer to the straight path and that pisses these off because they want our younger generation to turn Kaafir or reduce Islam to Friday service instead of beards and veils. Now I don’t agree with the Tablighi Jamaat in everything (even though I consider them brothers) but hurling blatant lies at any organisation even remotely associated with Islam just shows their venom and hatred. The same newspaper also had it’s panties in a knot over some Indians buying a British steel firm, like I said these people put on a false façade for 40 odd years but that didn’t change their fitrat (nature) or hundreds of years of colonisation, enslaving and plundering.

Their Islamaphobia will only make us better Muslims, when they had a false facade of political correctness and back stabbed us instead of being open, the Muslims including myself were indifferent to our identity but their hatred and attacks (verbal/physical) just makes us more conscious of our great Deen.

I salute my chaste sisters who wear the complete Hijaab (face veil incl.) and also the sisters who wear the partial Hijaab (head scarf) out of fear and my brothers who proudly grow their beard like the RASOOL ALLAAH (salallahu alayhe wassallam), stand proud because the earth including this island belongs to Allaah your Rabb, not to Blair, nor to BNP.

Their society is a society of filth and promiscuity, they are use to their own women who are whores/sluts in more ways than just their dress.. When our Maryam (alayhis salaam) like chaste/pious sisters reject their filthy ways it shows them just how lowly their ways are in the eyes of our pious sisters and our sisters are truly free and don't need freeing here or in Afghanistan, that pisses them off.

What we are going through or will go through is nothing compared to what our Prophet (sal allaahu alayhe wassallam) and the Sahaabah had to go through for the sake of Allaah Azza Wa Jalla so be strong my people. But at least the Sahaabah had the Prophet (sal allaahu alayhe wassallam) as a father figure with them, a shoulder to cry on, I started crying earlier on thinking what it would be like if we had the Messenger (sal allaahu alayhe wassallam) with us, I’d hug him and cry my heart out so that some of the pain I feel for our bad and deteriorating state would be eased and the holy Prophet (sal allaahu alayhe wassallam) would stroke my head and tell me not to worry and everything will be all right. Now I'd like to go down for some milk and cookies but my eyes are all swollen from crying thinking that.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

It’s a reaction to a hostile and volatile world that we live in. There is lot of ignorance and intolerance in this world, very sad incident indeed.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

This is disgusting act, it all started from the first comment from British office (J Straw?), he is collecting everyone's sin (not that his sin plate was empty).

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

Bad incident. But this kind of religious descrimination happens everywhere and with every religion once in a while.
I AM NOT JUSTIFYING THIS INCIDENT. Everyone have a right to wear anything or something whatever they choose, La'nati Hardcore Shar-pasand followers of every religion should try to get this in their head the philosophy of personal choice.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

Exactly.

I wish the best for her. Very sad.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

…all tht the muslims will do is stop wearing the veil…jus to blend in…n will translate some or the other hadeeth in their own way…n justify wht they r doing…

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

^ Well thats already happening. We already have a few so called "scholars" who have given out fatwas that the even the hijab isnt part of islam, and is something that is more cultural.

This is a time of great trial especially for those living in the west. Some pass the trial and are classed amongst the Momineen. Those who fail, end up being on hypocricy and disbeleif.

The gray area is decreasing, the world is polarizing to what is Islam and what is Kufr. The choice is yours.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

Actually, I don’t think that’s true. Incidents such as this are much more likely to motivate me to take the veil, as a sign of solidarity and respect for Muslim women, rather than some tyrannical and ignorant male who feigns piety.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

^^That's what the media wants you to do to create division. People with a victim attitude are ripe for the picking.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

to spell it out exactly, what exactly is this choice? what would you recommend for Muslims living in the west?

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

If they are unable to do what their religion requires of them, than they need to move out of there and go somewhere where they can practice their religion as they are supposed to. And that is not an impossibility.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

i agree. but the veil is not mandatory in Islam, so it is not as yet required for them to move right?

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

There is enough evidence to prove that the veil is mandatory.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

perhaps for you. certainly most Muslim religious opinion that I’ve encountered places it in the optional class. most likely people are going to stop adhering what they decide in good faith to be optional aspects of hijab if that allows them to meet their waajibat. dont misunderstand their intentions then.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

I dont know what places you've been looking at for religious opinions but all the early scholars including Ibn Abbas (rah) Imam Tabari, Ibn Sireen, Imam Razi and Ubaida as Salmani and others all had the opinion that covering the face was mandatory, as well as the rest of the body...except for the eyes and that was what Allah meant by that particular ayah of Surah Ahzab.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

I dont intend to go into an argument about this, i’ll only give you my basis. Not just is it common sense when we see that the prescribed dress for women during Hajj does not require covering her face (infact according to the shafii school, it is obligatory not to cover it).

I did a quick google for sunni references and came up with this very interesting resource, which quotes, amongst others, Imam Tabari:

**Imam Al Tabari, a leading scholar and commentator on the Qur’an of the second century of the Islamic era says: "The strongest and most accurate view is that which says that the exclusion (i.e. from what needs to be covered) refers to the face and the lower part of the hands up to the wrist. **

**Ayesha (r) reported that Asma’ the daughter of Abu Bakr (r) came to the Messenger of Allah (s) while wearing thin clothing. He approached her and said: 'O Asma’! When a girl reaches the menstrual age, it is not proper that anything should remain exposed except this and this. He pointed to the face and hands." [Abu Dawud]

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

The verse that makes it mandatory to cover the face is:
*O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. *
(Surah Ahzaab, Verse 59)

This is what Tabari writes in his tafseer for this ayaah.
Ali ibn Talhah reported that ibn Abbas said that Allah commanded the believing women, when they went out of their houses for some need, to cover their faces from above their heads with teh Jilbab, leaving one eye showing.
(Tafsir at Tabari 20:324)

Mohammad bin Sirin said, "I asked Ubaydah As Salmani (who had accepted Islam during the life of the Prophet) about the Ayah to draw their jilbab over their bodies. He covered his face and head, with just his left eye showing.
(Tafsir at Tabari 20:325)
**

Narrated Safiya bint Shaiba: 'Aisha used to say: "When (the Verse): "They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms," was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces." ** (Sahih Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 285)

Narrated Aisha: "When he saw a sleeping person, he came to me, **and he used to see me before veiling.** So, I got up when I heard him saying, "Inna lil-lah-wa inn a ilaihi rajiun (We are for Allah, and we will return to Him)....."(Sahih Bukhari Volume 3, Book 48, Number 829)

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

Whats the source of this statement? Its definetly not from his Tafsir at Tabari, because that contains the opinions i’ve posted earlier.

Did this hadith take place before the ayaah of Surah Ahzab got revealed? Because according to the Sahih Bukhari hadith ive posted its clearly evident that after the Ayaah of the Veil was revealed the Muslims started observing the veil and started covering the face.

Re: Veil snatched from Muslim woman

i wont get into the discussion sharaabi, because its not my discussion to begin with. im shia and we have similar basis as I posted, only less difference of opinion about it.

I'll only point out that the verse you quoted is translated and interpreted differently and thereby your whole point becomes which hadis do we choose over another. it is not my objective to discuss which point of view is correct, but to point out that in the 4 schools of sunni Fiqh and shia fiqh the opinion is that covering the face is not wajib (even if 2 out of the 4 encourage it), which makes it the opinion of the majority of Muslims. a fact you see in practice every day at the Haram with Muslims wearing the shar'ii hijaab as prescribed by the books and performing hajj/umra.
