Re: Valentine’s Day Wedding!
LOL, Bonbon! That is so true. And that is the reason I suggested a Valentine Valima.
Found an article where the groom had the same idea:

Re: Valentine's Day Wedding!
mahi, i love that black, white and red design board you posted! and the frog idea is toooo cute!!! very nice!
Re: Valentine’s Day Wedding!
Here is another one with green replacing the black and I like it more than the one I posted above. A mix and match of both would work wonders.
I had an idea of heart shaped ladoo’s with sprinkles before the frog one to add a desi touch but frog one won in the end.
Re: Valentine's Day Wedding!
hrm, red and dark green automatically remind me of christmas, but i'd do red and brighter green like a chartreuse. or even a red and teal scheme.
Re: Valentine's Day Wedding!
Did some body went on valentines wedding??plzz do share the pics
You are right, I guess. Being in Pakistan I would never think of it as Christmas but still.
Red with subtle grey and silver hues. Looks modern.
A Pink and White idea board:
Here is another idea. Elegant and so NOT red! Do you think it would work as a Valentine Wedding? (getting inspired now)
No, I don’t think theme weddings are very common here, let alone a Valentine wedding. Here is an account of a very gora dream Valentine’s wedding with bells on:
A spectacular Valentine’s theme Traveller wedding in Killarney yesterday (Wednesday - Feb 11 2009) was a dream come true for longtime sweethearts Thomas O’Brien and his bride Louise Quilligan, both natives of the town.
St Mary’s Cathedral was bedecked in red and white flowers when the bride arrived – accompanied by eight bridesmaids.
Two stretch limousines, a Hummer and a Landau, pulled by two Irish draught horses, ferried the bridal party to the cathedral.
The couple, both aged 19, have known each other since their early teens, the happy groom said yesterday.
Fr Kevin McNamara, celebrant, said the couple did not want to leave anyone out, which is why they had 16 attendants.“The style was incredible. There was a great sense of awe about the whole occasion,” said the priest.
The wedding party left in a stretch cream car, accompanied by over 100 guests, for a wedding reception almost four hours away in Co Carlow.
Thomas O’Brien and Louise Quilligan:
Just three of the eight bridesmaids - Rebecca Quilligan, Sabrina O’Brien and Melanie Kelly - running for cover from the rain at the wedding:
I love the bridesmaids’ dresses. ![]()
Re: Valentine’s Day Wedding!
Not Valentine themed but these two weddings happened on Sat, 14 February 2009.
yeah… this is not a typical wedding for gora’s… this is a traveller, ie “gypsy” wedding, and its quite, quite unusual haha ![]()
Re: Valentine's Day Wedding!
It was the same pretty much like any other wedding except after duhr salat we prayed an extra 2 nafl for Hazrat Valentine and then had an ijtamaai dua thanking him for helpin' us all get jiggy.

whats a traveller/gypsy wedding?
Gypsies are normally people who travel the country and live in caravans. They often have extravagant weddings.
Re: Valentine's Day Wedding!
^ I have seen gypsies living in trees in Norwood, London. It was the most colourful scene! Hehe! :)

Re: Valentine’s Day Wedding!
A Valentine wedding at Burhill Golf Club. Bridesmaids wore red and carried ivory bouquets. All else was passion red: the entrance and upstairs archway had lush garlands with roses and gerberas. Tables were dressed with domes of roses and gerberas, with striking rose petals bands.
Re: Valentine’s Day Wedding!
i’d say this qualifies as a v-day wedding- its blush pink, ivory, gold, and so romantic!
