I agree to your point that our media is cheap, but they sell what is sold easily. Its over all indicator of likings of our society. If society got insulted for promoting ideas like Valentines Day, it should have rejected it at first stance decade ago. But the story is otherwise. People did gave support to western days lik VD, Mothers Day, Friendship day and this acceptance is reflected and further promoted by media.

by the same analogy you would agree that people have no problem with army take over as no agitation by people is observed. But, i m sure you wont.
