I am NOT talking about girls who dress skimpily. I am talking about girls like me who used to get a lot of daant from our elders when we somehow couldn’t manage to wear dupatta ‘rightly’ and didn’t put dupatta on our heads when going out. Yes, I am serious, my cousins and I got so much daant for not wearing dupatta and chaddar rightly sometimes and I DO agree that such tarbiat has made us what we are today and I am proud of my morals which our elders have given us.

But when we compare us with our elders, I remember seeing my mom’s and khalas’ university time pics when they used to put their dupatta in neck, used to wear tighly fitted clothes etc. And I jokingly say to my mom, ap logon k zamanay main bhot liberal they sab, saari sakhtian humary hi liyey hain (I am not allowed to wear sleeveless, capris etc and I also don’t like wearing them myself). The topic in this thread is just another example. When I think, its just that our naanis, daadis, chaachis and tayis had strict rules for us because we were young, growing and unmarried and perhaps they thought such rules are not for them because they are older and married. This is the only reason which comes to my mind.

I still think that your mom’s gen was much much better than your gen .. bas keh diya
