You're upset because your wife has a crush on Edwards aren't you?
OG, you are effectively arguing why George II has made such a terrible president, his lack of foreign policy experience is very evident. You're right we should not have made him the leader of the free world without some dang good experience.

:D
Edwards won on Afghanistan and Iraq. No rebuttals to the claim that the capture of Osama bin Laden was "outsourced to Afghan warlords." Or that Bremer & co.'s pleas for more troops were ignored. Cheney used Costa Rica as a historical precedent that the situation will improve. Vietnam, there's another historical testcase for you, Dick.
Cheney won on taxes and the deficit. He took a jab at Edward's attendance record, pointing out he didn't even vote on the tax cut legislation. He said he would lower the $400 billion deficit by 50% in 4 years. Edwards said he would lower it by $200 billion dollars in 4 years. Same thing.
Uh... I switched to the Twins/Yankees game after 45 minutes so I can't say much other than that. Except that it was a much more boring debate than last week's.

Good photoshop job. I wanted to say this too that he looks like MR Burns.

Gentlemen, kindly keep family relations out of your retorts. You never know when someone will take offense and then we have a mess on our hands. Gracias.

BUSTED. ![]()
Ooo..snap…take that Cheney!
^ Cheney is a professional liar. He can lie on your face like it’s not a big deal. Does he really care that he is busted on this issue?
I thought Edwards did much better in the first half than the second. He was amusingly direct.
Things changed when the conversation turned to gay marriage and talk of Cheney's daughter. Cheney softened after that point, limited repeating himself, and sort of became reserved and quiet (almost likeable ?!?!?!). Edwards became needed to refine his behavior and attitude toward the end.
It was more interesting than the Presidential debates, certainly.
"You're upset because your wife has a crush on Edwards aren't you?"
Actually UTD, I am more of an independent, and my wife is much more of a Republican. If George Clooney were running......
I believe it is YOU who has the crush on Edwards sweetcheeks!
Most if not all politicians are liars, dishonest, cheaters and deceitful; yet we the populace love 'em and elect / re-elect them. Here’s an observation from last nights debate.
Edwards knew it was Cheney’s turn and that the moderator erred, yet he availed the opportunity and started speaking, the moderator then realized 15 secs later. Now if Edwards was any honest he would have told the mod the truth. Is Edwards dishonest or an opportunist? I leave that for you Guppies.

Ok guys … please don’t make fun of the Republicans for Cheney’s tongue slip. What if he lied about not seeing Edwards or gave viewers the wrong website.
He is an OLD man with a weak heart (and blood/oil sucking teeth). Give the guy a break. :halo:
And yeah, I agree with the gupshup pundits, none of the blunders will effect the swing voters. They will be swinging till November.

I think he declined to give answers at opportune times when saying anything more added nothing to the dialogue. "Refuse" was not a good word to describe it. Seems like you just latched onto that description form the PD's previous post and made an assumption about something you didn't even see. That's why many of you are called
"kneejerk liberals". I doubt it will change your vote, but you should study up a bit and see if you can try to make an informed decision.

I think refuse was a good word. IMHO he says as little as possible so he doesn't get called to task.
" Iraq has WMD's and we know where they are" said, Cheney.
Websters defines refuse
Main Entry: 1re·fuse
Pronunciation: ri-'fyüz
Function: verb****
Inflected Form(s): re·fused; re·fus·ing
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French refuser, from (assumed) Vulgar Latin refusare, perhaps blend of Latin refutare to refute and recusare to demur -- more at RECUSE
transitive senses
1 : to express oneself as unwilling to accept
2 a : to show or express unwillingness to do or comply with
3 obsolete : GIVE UP, RENOUNCE
Main Entry: 2ref·use
Pronunciation: 're-"fyüs, -"fyüz
Function: noun *****
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French refus rejection, from Old French, from refuser
1 : the worthless or useless part of something : LEAVINGS
2 : TRASH, GARBAGE
I think both definations fit Cheney.
