US wants national govt with Nawaz as PM: report
LAHORE: A top Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader from Sindh has revealed that the US wants a national government in Pakistan with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif as prime minister and President Asif Ali Zardari to continue as president, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.According to the channel, the PPP leader, asking not to be named, said Nawaz had become the ‘blue-eyed boy’ of the US and the rest of the West. The PPP leader, who is considered close to President Zardari, said the issue might come be discussed during President Zardari’s visit to Washington, the channel said. daily times monitor
US wants this, US wants that... why don't they just shove a few RPGs up their own? Let our country tackle our problems.
Pakistan becoming a failed state is a threat to the entire world and especially USA
The dream of our founder was for Pakistan to be more like Turkey, a powerful, secular, modern state. Not the nightmare terrorist infested state that it has become.
Nawaz is not the answer for Pakistan
A new generation of leaders have to step foward.
We cannot continue the game of PPP and Nawaz in this decade.
Re: US wants national govt with Nawaz as PM: report
This is just tactic to black Mail Zardari and his Govt., by issuing these kind of reports, US is telling Zardari that if you do not comply or try to secure OUR ( US ) interest first, the We will replace of by NS.
What NS should strongly denounce these kind of statements ( which i believe the opposition leader Ch. Nisar Ali Khan already did), Americans are not God, if there adventurism continues, soon they'll be failed state...

There is no other alternative to Zardari but Nawaz Sharif and that is the inherent problem with Pakistan. Once we get better alternatives…then things will start to get better.
Nawaz may be slightly better than Zardari but that is where it ends.

May be you can tell it to the dogs who bark across your border ;)

Thats really funny! Some people think that US and other countries should not intervene and sit quitely watching taliban coming over and taking over the nuclear arsenal which would directly mean the demise of whole world.....
I wish Pakistan could be able to tackle own problems. It is even failed to tackle the problems of poverty, electricity crisis , ethnicity and so on. And now its really shameful to see people talking about Pakistan as a "failure" state or a country on the verge of collapse.
Yesterday, on BBC world, which is btw not a US media, referred Pakistan as going to be the first nucluer collapsed state.... I felt so bad hearing that but yet again its the truth, so kindly stop blaming US and admit that Pakistanis have proved themselves unable to fight with its problems. I'm not saying they cant, but its just they have not and what I see here, they will not tackle their own problems.
Perhaps if you had any semblance of logical deduction as your nickname would like to claim then you would not be asking such a ridiculous question

I would agree with it and add Army in the list. Right now the options on table are NS, Zardari or ARmy. And very unfortunately all three are failed options which cant make things right in this country...

Pakistan has suffered not just because of internal failures but also because of foreign interventions. The worst began during Ziaul Haq, "we don't like military dictators.... but in the interest of region we will support Zia" and pumped millions/billions of dollars, guess what happens?
Then comes another blunder AKA Musharraf, same thing again "we don't like military dictators... but in the interest of region we will support Musharraf" and again pumped millions and billions of dollars. Any guesses what happened? US does not have best of interest for Pakistan or Pakistanis. All this hoopla of "nuclear failed state, wmd falling in wrong hands".... you are free to make your opinion.
Re: US wants national govt with Nawaz as PM: report
Be it US or other Western powers ...... be honest with urself no one is going to help Pakistan to come out of the mess that's in it right now
Only Pakistanis can help them self with the Help of ALLAH SWT.
Sad part of it is that when things will seriously worse (Nukes at stake) all the ruling elites will have left the country and it's PPL helplessly alone
Get rid of the ruling elites (PPP, PML, Waderas, Talibs etc. etc.) or the course this country is on seems more like the one TITANIC was on

Dude, the bold statement is absolutely true. Why would US care for Pakistan or Pakistan's interest. US care for its own interest. And thats what Pakistan should do as well.
And here comes the original issue. Pakistanis dont care about their own country neither they put the country's interest first. Whether its politicians, army, taliban or the normal public. Everyone is ready to hurt others just in their own interest, not country's. And this is the core problem. Otherwise Pakistan would have never split as a result of the slogan "Idhar ham udhar tum"...
And its not about US that you have to follow. Pakistan can follow its own nieghbors if not US. They used to compare with India in every single field. Now tell me where do we stand. The comparison between PAkistan and India is no more realistic. Its like matching apple with orange.
I do believe that Pakistanis keep the country's interest and they wont anyone to help them. But the problem is, the ground reality is totally opposite.
So why blame US?
