This will turn many ppl like myself, previously pro American (broadly, seeing it an a historical force for good) into neutral at best. Its unjust to treat people as criminals, esp when they are the ones bombing people indiscriminately across the globe.
I guess my planned North American Oddesy will have to start in Canada and end in Mexico. This is truly needless, and will further isolate the US from its traditional fanbase of Europe.
I’m glad Brasil has reacted in kind, and frankly my estimation of the Latin American leaders goes up each time they stand ip to what is in effect a tyrannical US administration.
For the past three years you have been starting threads on your so called 'planned visit' to USA. You then sight some example of the USA customs, immigration or FBI and base your decision to visit on the outcome of the discussion in the thread.
Dude, can you please just stay wherever the heck you are? We use fingers for more than finger printing.
My cousin just came here a couple of weeks ago. They didn't only make him stay at the airport for more than an hour but also took all his credit cards info. They took his detailed interview.
......and he is a regular visitor here. Imagine, what do they do to the first time visitor.
I wonder, if its legal to take credit card info. because ofcourse he was not purchasing anything from them.
There is a change in policy: instead of 2, now 10 fingers will be printed. Now, if you have no fingers, then you are in deep trouble. Also, this email scrutiny is also news to me.
yeah, and assorted email activists get ticked off when i tell them to take me off their mass emails. but hey i can rest well knowing that if they have some terrorist on that list somehow and then since I am on the same idiotic mass mail list, if I get picked up by some overzelous GED homestudied yahoo at an airport, that these clowns will send mass emails to anyone in their address book about that as well.
Security screening of Pakistanis by the Americans, well! I have news for you my Pakistani brethren…
Recently I got a job in a very “sensitive” governmental organization of Pakistan, and believe me! The security clearance for Pakistan’s own citizens for this job was at least 20 times more comprehensive then what the Americans require for Pakistani visitors.
I was told to produce 10 forms of all ten digit fingerprints, names and ID card numbers of my uncles, aunts, cousins, references, judicial cases that me or my father have fought in court, our assets and its worth, and much much more, basically total exposure.
I am sure this may sound tough to some of you, but this is where the world is going. I am sure a few decades ago, even travelling with a passport was deemed an infringement of human rights. Now its the norm. People get used to changes. Plus, unless you have something to hide, having your finger prints taken is really neither a big deal, nor does it take an extra-ordinary long time to accomplish.
Ironically, I completely agree with the post above there which said its so relatively easy to fool these fingerprint systems. So if any law enforcement agency is hoping to catch a terrorist master-mind while he is having his fingerprints taken at JFK, then either they are dumb or the master-mind is not so master after all.
Its a big deal if the faulty tools with limits are seen as the gods of truth by yahos using them. remember that lawyer dude who was falsely identified as involved in spain blasts? they ended up paying demages to him, but who wants to go thru such an ordeal.
Well!! When I am in that “porter” organization, I will make sure, (especially in Pakistan, u know how these things work) that you get an “Extra” good time at the airport…
