LOS ANGELES (AFP) -** A former teacher has been arrested for allegedly taking photos of blindfolded and gagged students with roaches on their faces and spoons of semen to their mouths, US police said on Tuesday.**
Mark Berndt, 61, who taught for more than 30 years at an elementary school in east Los Angeles, faces multiple charges of committing lewd acts on nearly two dozen children, prosecutors said.
‘I am sickened and horrified by the behavior of Mark Berndt,’ said LA Unified School District Superintendent John Deasy after 23 criminal counts were filed involving 7 to 10 year-old children allegedly abused between 2008 and 2010.
‘This individual and his conduct do not reflect on the quality of the teachers who work so hard on behalf of the students in the Los Angeles Unified School District,’ he said.
The poor children why is this individual not being put to death, how sick is the society of united states i know not every teacher is like this, but how did it get to this stage where an individual was allowed to do this to innocent children for such long time?

What this individual did was truly reprehensible and he WILL be dealt by the law, as he should.
By the way, just a few days ago, an Afghan immigrant family in Canada was convicted of killing their three teenage daughters and the second wife of the family’s patriarch. Would the averge Joe be justified in concluding from the shocking case of honor killings that Afghan or Muslim society is sick and condones such brutality? No, because we all know that there are sick exceptions in every society.

aoozobillah, why are people shocked that such people exist in a society like the United States? My brothers remember this is same society that produced the people who sexually abused iraqis in abu gharib did you forget those pictures already?
Did you forget last week this was the same society which produced people who where urinating on dead afghan people and they had no shame they even filmed it for whole world to see.
Don’t be shocked it is no accident or only few individuals as hilary clinton keeps telling us in her weekly khutbah. A degenerate society like this will always produce the worst degenerate people, just look at their national drugs, rape and abuse statistics for proof of this!

Have a look at all the abuse children face in Pakistan.
Even the rare times the abusers are caught, they can buy their way out of trouble.

we all have such peoples in every society and islam is only religion which provides practical remedy to reduce such crimes....
i m not saying that other religions support or do not condemn these crimes but they fail to produce any remedy for such crimes....
What "remedy" does Islam provide? How do you ensure that such crimes are never committed?

i think i said remedy to reduce crimes not to stop them....
u must know that delhi government asked girls school to stop recruiting male teacher to stop abuse......
if this had happen in any muslim nation there had been a hue and cry about their mentality..........
as far as punishment is concerned it is also a kind of remedy for aggrieved person.....

In an important decision taken by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Male teachers have been prevented from teaching girls in primary schools in Delhi. An MCD official said that the handful of complaints of **sexual molestation **is the major cause behind the decision.

there r ladies special compartments in mumbai locals and even ladies special trains...
even special coaches for women in metro..
Not sure there were "too many" cases. The article itself says *"we have had three or four complaints in the last two years".
*Ladies compartments exist yes, but they are not the remedy to stop sexual harassment of women. There's nothing to stop a group of determined men from entering these compartments.

this looks to be ridiculous but you know how govt machinery thinks and works , they resort to the easiest solution which can save their skin only, they don't go for longterm solution. some time ago girls were ordered to wear shalwar kurta in place of skirt and blouse or shirt and tie but this decision was changed after many women organisation protested against these orders.
