US Special Forces training Pakistani Troops

If Taliban had air firepower, if they had tanks, if they had access to drones/satellite technology then I would've agreed that Taliban failed to oust coalition of the (un)willing but the equation is heavily tilted in favor of coalition who are armed to teeth with all the latest gadgets/arms/ammo yet they are unable to seize control of the land.

are they fighting all of afghanistan or these taliban and al qaeda extremists?

its a different fight…

alexander the great conquered afghanistan…the british and russians tried conquering it…

NATO is supporting the afghan government and tehy are not fighting all of afghans…

since most of them come from pakistan

I don't want to suggest what desert bird is saying (Afghanis undefeatable) but Taliban represent bigger chunk of Afghanistan, its not like they are present in few pockets here and there.

Taliban do not enjoy popular support like the Sunni insurgents did in Iraq. Thats why they were able to live in cities and still conduct operations because the local population supported their actions in Iraq.

This is not the case here. The Taliban are living mostly in Pakistan crossing the border to conduct operations. They send suicide bombers to cities but never establish bases there like Sunni Insurgents did in Iraqi cities.

That tells you that they do not enjoy local support.

And thus its a different fight than that the Soviets waged in the 1980's or the British in 1840's and 1870's.

The British overthrew a popular ruler which angered the Afghans while the Soviets were trying to prop up a unpopular government.

So its different circumstances.

Is Kabul under Taliban rule? Thats news to me.

Even if Pakistan did not give it permission, you really think that these drone attacks will stop?

What do you think Pakistan is, a global super-power?

Thats because the taliban are crossing the border from Pakistan and its a big border to protect. Wherever the NATO forces move, the Taliban are heavily defeated. Thats why they run away to Pakistan and send brainwashed kids for suicide bombing operations.

I am glad you are cheering such people.

I said US Casualties were around 600, and thank you for proving to everyone I was correct.

Pakistan has its XI Corps with the 7th Infantry and 9th Infantry Division fighting these people. It has suffered immense losses. The FC are subsidary to the military forces. Even when the Army has been deployed it has been totally ineffective in fighting these people. Pakistan has lost over 3,000 troops fighting these animals.

Pakistan needs help. It is still using World War II tactics to fight a gureilla force.

Destroying? Was Britain destroyed after it invaded in 1840? Please stop over glorifying Afghanistan.

Second of all, USA is fighting the Taliban who are based out of Pakistan. These people do not enjoy popular support and thus run away to Tribal areas to recruit and send fighters back into Afghanistan. This is different then lets say the Iraqi Insurgents who had local support and thus did not need to run to Jordan or Syria to stage operations and could stay in Iraqi cities and rely on the protection of the population.

Yeah, good luck with that.

Message me on gupshup once that is done.

Do you even know what you are talking about?? Army was only Fighting in Swat & was completely Dominating the taliban there, but in FATA & the other areas FC is the only one present , yes Army is there for Backup , but they dont take part in operations.

Sure even if wine forgot i will do this honor, bcoz the time of USA has ended.
You see it the the law of nature. WHAT GOES UP, MUST COME DOWN.........

You are suggesting as if the Taliban are active only in eastern part of Afghanistan while rest of it is all calm and cool. If Taliban were getting sanctuaries only in Pakistan then how do they manage to rise in other parts? Someone is covering their incompetent behinds by putting whole blame on Pakistan.

Same old rhetoric of yours .. dude their was once two super powers, and one of them try to mess with us. Rest you know what happened, their was Romans, Alexander the Great, Tajiks, Mongols, British, Soviet and now USA :)

History repeat itself !

Well well. Commies will still be raping Afghanis if not for the $billions of cash and arms from the USA. Why are you so thankless?

Most of the world learns from the invasions and they setup good defenses to stop further invasions.

Afghans on the other hand are so primitive, that they can neither stop others from invading them, but in fact they happily invite others to invade them. USA invasion was made possible by Afghanis themselves.

Sad to see that tribal Afghanis kill their own police, their own army and then jump with joy (like some Afghani posters on this forum).

Once Afghanis destroy their own government, kill their police officers, bomb their own army, then guess what?

No wonder Afghanistan has been raped so many times .

History surely repeats itself (And Afghanis refuse to learn from it).
