I dont know wats the argument here. FATA and PATA were never under pakistan's sovereign control, infact they were not under any kind of control. Even the british could not control them thats why they didnot put railway lines there.
if any of u have been to pakistan ever, u would know that its called "ILAAKA GHAIR" and you can buy any kind of stolen car from there at such a low price u can not even imagine, u can buy any kind of guns from there.
But still if america attacks that place they r gona make a permanent base there which will offend china.
That is not true. There is a railway line from Peshawar to Torkham ...and another from Kohat to Tal, Kuram agency both tribal areas.
FATA was the creation of British as a part of its Great Game and Cold War strategy. Later that status was retained by Pakistan because of reasons related to domestic power configuration and regional geo-strategic situation...Still Pakistan is reluctant to do any kind of reform in FATA despite persistent demand by people of FATA and NWFP. They say Pakistan's military elite think FATA is essential to Pakistan's security strategy as well as economic interests.
There are Mohmands in FATA on Pakistani side but here they are called tribals. Mohamands are on the Afghan side as well but there they are full citizens with all rights. Same is true of others like Shinwaris (on both sides), Mangals, Wazirs, etc.
