Never got any grants since I got into grad school in the US. Would be sweet if I could since I still have to pay back all the loans I received.

here is the thing. you still got loans. my wife wanted to get a loan for her grad school, but no one would give her one coz a GC is a pre-req. and then there is the whole deal where if it is a student loan, your repayment terms are so flexible, with interest being tax exempt and what not. i was super mad for a few days, so can sorta see where wendy is coming from. she just worded it wrong. nordics, thinking they can still be vikings.. :\
