Someone said that I should immediately take the picture of my 3 year old son, away from my desk at work because I am commiting Shirk, and chances are that I would start treating him as a bhagwaan and start idolizing him very soon.
just ignore these people -thats what i try to do....you know this year I got a really nice poster made for an event we were doing at uni ...and on the poster there was a picture of a bird (to symbolise liberation -which was the theme of the event)....it was only a small pic of a cute white little dove...poster looked great cuz it was in colour etc and alot of effort was put into it.....anyways, i was near the place where the poster was stuck and a nikabi came came up to me and looked like she was in a panic, she says to me "do u have tipex or eraser please or a black marker......i really need it".....i tried to help this girl cuz i thought she needed it for her work! then i went by the poster and realised that she wanted the marker to colour in the poor little bird :( she ruined my poster by scribbling the bird out and i was soooo annoyed :( i said to her its just a bird so what...and she said "dont u know its haram"....i just said to her we all have differnt opinions and should just respect each other. but wasnt it more wrong for herNOT to ruin my poster without asking me.....cuz it wasnt hers
it says in the Quran that Islam is the middle/balanced way.
it seems like some people believe that being extreme is the right way to go -but its wrong....its important to be balanced about everything.....and also be realistic....
for example, some guys who have a long beard, preach to those without beards about how its haram to shave it etc......but u look at that same bearded guy 2 years later and its totally shaved. point being do things that are realistic and doable.....and something that u can keep up with.....not give up after ur out of the "holy macoroni" phase.
