Because Rampur , shahjahanpur, bijnor, bareilly, farrukhabad, malihabad etc were ruled by pashtuns in 18th century…thats why you would find urdu speaking pathans there…i actually met an afridi from malaihabad, he was quite light-skinned, he told me they strictly marry within their own community.

People in this region, including muslims, speak in local language, called, Kannaji, Farrukhabadi, braj etc. I generally saw muslims of this area mostly using local dialect rather than Urdu
