Re: Urdu speaking Pashtuns from UP
Sorry but people who ruled most parts of northern India were Mughals, who were Turko-Mongol people.
Pashtuns moved to northern India along with many other groups of Muslims from West. Yes, there have been some Pashtun dynasties in India, but then so have been dynasties from other groups as well. In fact, most Muslim dynasties of early last millennia were Turkish.
It is because of that huge Turkish and Persian influence that we see on the culture of Muslims of India. When we depict a king in our stories or movies, he always wears Turkish dresses instead of shalwar-kameez of Pashtuns. Try searching for Uzbekistan and see how much their traditional dresses resemble our royal dresses. The language of Muslims of India, Urdu, derives majority of its vocabulary from Persian. Even the Arabic words present in it came through Persian. There is hardly any Pashtu word in Urdu.
