I remember my mom/grandmom telling me this storywhen I was a child:
"once apon a time, a couple could'nt have children and the wife was very sad. One day an old Holy person passed by their home. The lady begged the holy person to bless them with a child, he blessed a fruit he was carrying and told the lady to eat it.
But the lady got busy in house chores and forgot, suddenly she saw that a crow had started eating the fruit, she screamed and the crow dropped half the fruit. having no other choice she ate the remaining half of the fruit.
After 9 months she gave birth to a boy, with half head, one leg, one arm !!
Many stories were made( probably with my grandmoms imagination) of how a thief came to rob their house-but Adha bhai kept on saying 'Adha Bhai Jagda' etc etc.
