I have a brand new nephew so I’ve taken an interest in urdu nursery rhymes. I don’t remember any from childhood, makes me wonder if my parents ever did recite any
I found a website where there are hindi nursery rhymes listed and I thought they’d be the same ones that my parents talk about. I found a popular one that most of you probably know, ‘Chanda Mama’. This version is not what my dad remembers.
Chanda Mama
Aasmaan mein nikle taare
Dekho inki shaan niraali
Roj savere chhip jaati hai
Aao chandaa maama aao
Do you guys know of any websites that may have the urdu nursery rhymes. Also, do you remember any?

I remember lots n lots …n infact i sing everything to my kids …from those cute nursery rhymes …to old tv ads (from my childhood days
even though i would love to share …but i’m afraid its gonna take a lot more time than i actually have!

My Mom used to sing this one for us:
boel boel ka bacha
aik din wo aya
and the rest I forgot
This one too:
chanda maamoe doer gai
the rest I forgot! only remember the first line, sorry. I should ask my Mom if she still remembers them, heehee!

but everytime i went throufgh this ppl called me a kala kawa.

I think Farooque Qaisar’s book has rhymes. I also know for a fact that some CDs are available from Usman+Imran Peerzada’s company. Feroze sons also issued some cassette tapes a while back. Last year when I was looking for some children books and saw some from Saqiba Rahim. Visit any bookstore in Pakistan and you will find lots of them.
