Re: Urdu novels translated in English
can you post the link where you are reading the tranlation of Peer-e-Kamil PBUH?
cuz all these translation are different. so far i find (the one i posted) a best translation, and very easy on the eyes.
they also have another tranlstion..i think LaHasil on the same site, which i shared with you.
http://umeraahmed.weebly.com/lahaasil--hollow-pursuits.html
eww..its so frekin boring.
i didnt even read the original entirely, let alone kill my self with english.
the person who gonna do its translation, seriously has No Life!
drama is way better…so stick with that.
in fact stick with drama for all Farhat Ishtaiq’s novel.
Re: Urdu novels translated in English

Re: Urdu novels translated in English
^ novel is amazing. Umera's 90% novels are good.
i dont know about PDF...u gotta dig man. join Umera Ahmed's FB page. well there are countless pages on her. i have joined many but i dont know which one actually posts the english translations.
otherwise...copypaste all of em on word and then convert it to pdf :p...less time comsuming...if i have time i will do it for u.
btw, try to learn urdu. her dialogues are amazing.
ps. they had a drama on this novel. i didnt watch it since angelin malik played the part of mama-jani. i think eventually they will do its remake.
Re: Urdu novels translated in English
hey Khatti, how were these books???? i am almost done with my current book and looking for something new
I really enjoyed them. If you are curious about Pakistani politics, then "My Feudal Lord" is an interesting read...it's Tehmina Durrani's memoire about her marriage to Ghulam Mustafa Khar. It's heavily revolves around painting him as a sadistic, wife beating sociopath...lol...
Dancing girls is a must read!!! It's a inside look of Lahore's famed Heera Mandi...

Personally I liked Angeline Malik in this particular role of Kathy/Mama Jaani.
I think Peer e Kamil can't be dramatised due to some sectarian issues. I've read that even Umera Ahmed had refused to dramatise this.
Re: Urdu novels translated in English
Sanjha is not based on a novel.
PS: You may also like to read Abdul Haleem Sharar’s novel ‘Firdous e Bareen’ also translated into English as ‘Paradise of Assasins’. Here the link to the review. Its available online in Urdu ![]()

did u read the novel, Lahaasil?? if so, howd u like it??. i just started the english one
and about Peer e Kamil i heard the same thing, although i dont think its such a big issue...weve seen dramas deal w even bolder issues so it wouldnt be such an issue to dramatise this.
if she was so worried, she never write something in that context to begin with.

I read Laahasil before watching drama, although the when you read novel you make a skecth of each character and no drama can beat that sketch. IMO dramatisation of Lahasil was not bad.
