Urdu Language Destroying Pakistan!

Because until someone like you learns to stop bringing politics into it, it shouldnt be allowed. You brought the MQM, hell you even said that I am here commenting only because of my disdain for the MQM. I never said anything about them, and I have already informed you that they dont represent Urdu, which you are trying to convey. I am not attacking Urdu speaking people, because I dont think urdu speaking people are an ethnicity, and that is what you are trying to portray. With that, you lose your own argument when you say an ethnic language shouldnt be imposed on people.

the subject quite clearly states that "urdu language destorying pakistan" - i have simply offered my views and offered an alternative to what actually is destroying pakistan.
All you've done is brought your anti-punjabism on board, nothing else.
its called a debate. if you dont like peoples views then either put me on ignore or dont join forums where people may have contradictory views to you.
I am a much senior member than you are over here, and you cant digress just because you loose an argument. Not only have you brought politics into it, you have starting making personal statements about me to somehow prove your point, which are as weak as your venomous statements about the province.
i hope the moderator keeps thsi thread open because it allows us to clarify what the role of urdu is in the destruction of pakistan - it has NOTHING to do with it.
I have already spoken to the moderators. And for your record, I have already given plenty of reasons, apart from the thread starters to make my point.

and im not a muhajir - im a proud northern pakistani. my ancestors have been muhajirs on our land for over 500 years.

I dont care what you are. I dont care if you speak 'one regional language' that you cant even identify which just shows how truthful you are.

isnt this a political subject? in fact i personally dont even think this thread belongs here but in the pak affairs section

the whole language thing is a political issue inpakistan. is nt the renaming of nwfp a political issue? was nt it a political party who advocated it?

urdu speaking people are much an ethnicity as punjabis are and sindhis. in fact a lot of urdu speaking people have the same ethnic heritage as the other two -sheikhs, qureshis, siddiquis, mughal, syeds, etc...

you have made no single point of how a regional language will be used in your previous posts - you just mention urdu is destroying regional languages. i have asked you time and time again to state clearly how languages should be used but you cant BACK yourself up.

i have gone out of my way to mention a few areas where regional languages and urdu should play roles. your theory makes sense in practise only if you carve up administrative zones based on languages alone otherwise yiour advocating the imposition of regional languages and urdu on the poor souls who live as minorities in nwfp, punjab, sindh, balochistan.

do youreally think its acceptable to impose upon them? most already view that pakistan is for the benfit of urdu speakers and punjab. you will appease sindhi seraiki pashtun baloch nationalists and impose their languages upon the minorities who feel the REAL threat of extinction.

you cant even sympathise with these people just because they are a 1%. if they dont mean anything to you whydont you fight for their independence. they are not colonies of the larger provinces.

the problem with your ideas is that it will cause unrest and disaffection is :-

 1. chitral
 2. the hazara belt
 3. peshawar and kohat city
 4. dera ismail khan
 5. attock
 6. multan and bahawalpur
 7. the northern areas
 8. mainwali
 9. quetta
 10. karachi and hyderabad
 11. islamabad

these regions are just some of the regions where the language of the province may not be spoken or there are large numbers of minorities.

can you imagine how pashtiuns would feel is the balochistan assemly started using balochi? canyou imagine how chitralis and hinko speakers would feel if the nwfp assembly started using pashtu? etc etc etc

have some sympathy for your country men ....

[note]
Ok guys, this is not PA so can we not turn the thread in Pnajabi/Mohajir feud. As controversial as the title may sound, lets stick to the main topic

That is a good point and even in india, where they have defined ethnic groups, movement of people is causing some controversy. Now people said it was just VHS but they did complain about foreigners coming in and "messing up" the balance of maharashtra.

I think the best idea that I mentioned is that we need forms and language academies to help foster languages but that should be about it. Media can also play a role but i think it already has started doing with sindhi, punjabi, pashto and balochi channels!

PS Bangladesh example is invalid unless only Punjab = Pakistan. Then Punjab could make a point that why learn urdu when people are speaking punjabi and a close dialect called seraiki in the province [though some say it is a different language]. There is difference between sylhetis and dhakawalas * but overall it is bengali.*

Re: Urdu Language Destroying Pakistan!

We are such a crazy nation, that we find one issue after the other to destroy us and break us. If language is the issue now, then solution is to produce mutes. may be thats when we can stay united.

Oye Moderator ka mazaaq uraatay ho .. you know its a felony on GS with minumum 3 months of ban

Re: Urdu Language Destroying Pakistan!

Urdu language must be respected by its speakers or else it will not have the transition power to the next generations.

for your kind information ali gi pakistani official language is english

i dont think urdu is second biggest language of islam?
i think second biggest language o muslims is persian and spoken and written in many countries thats why allama iqbal left urdu in his poetry and adopted persian for his poetry

persian and dialects of persian are spoken in countries with relatively low populations. urdu on the other hand is spoken and understood in counries with very high populations ie pakistan, india,...persians influence once was all the way to dhakka but now no longer past kabul......persian once dominated the area which i snow pakistan but barrely a 100,000 speak it as a mother tongue...

actually i used to think that too but apparently Urdu replaced English as the official language in the 1978 constitution...u can look it up online, BUT for all practical purposes, however, English is still being used as a official language. Pakistan’s legal system is based on British common law, and judicial and government documents are mostly written in English.

agai agai dekheye hota hai kiya!

For some people it is hard to comprehend that urdu is the ONLY lanuage in Pakistan which is understood by ALL ETHNIC groups, and that is why it is our NATIONAL language. Discredeting urdu will only widen the rifts between other ethinic groups.

yes it is punjabi is spoken by 65% of pakis

urdu ki mithas uk say tu bhangra nay khatam karkay rakh dee

amee abhi bhi kehti hain urdu bolo baita

is not hate threat it is fact

have you ever said anything when you hear comments like urdu tu meethi zubaan hai , urdu itelects ki zubaan hai and punjabi pushto or sindi tu ajadoon ki

Its not like that everyone says that.

Re: Urdu Language Destroying Pakistan!

respect is earned, not enforced. Respect other people's languages, and they'll start respecting your native language.

1978 constitution :hehe:

Re: Urdu Language Destroying Pakistan!

^ i meant Urdu replaced English ( in the constitution ) as an official language, in 1978…common sense needs to be applied in some cases :snooty:
