Urdu is a complex language

Re: Urdu is a complex language

one question to you Kaka, hope you’ll be able to answer. i’ve asked several people this question but never got an good answer:

to be counted as a language, it has to have it’s own vocabulary, it’s own script and it’s own literature.
**
if that’s the definition of a language then why Punjabis did NOT adopt it’s script? why do they use Urdu script in which certain Punjabi letter sounds aren’t available? why didn’t they adopt the Gurmukhi script which is widely used by Punjabis in India?**

thank you!
