We have all the different grammar rules for different words depending on their Arabic or Persian or Hindi origins and ‘muzzaker’ and ‘moannis’ for inanimate things.
I realized one interesting thing reading the wikipedia article about the languages. There are 6 levels of how ‘formal’ the language can be spoken in;
'aap' ke saath 'bolo' saHeeH nahiiN hai...duusrii soorateN saHeeH haiN jaise 'aap boleN' yaa 'aap boliye'. however, 'aap farmaaiye' is quite formal but it's NOT Persian.
Oh but I love that colloquial Urdu offers us so much variety in addressing people, which is not found in English. And there's more flexibility in colloquial speech, one can be more lax with grammar rules and get away with saying aap "aap bolo" to child for instance.
They have better moral/social fiber than us and that is what counts :)
when it comes to sexual aspect, the consensual sex is alright AND also when it comes to taking care of their parents...if they visit them on Mother's and Father's Day and/or Christmas, they consider their parents as one of the luckiest parents in the world.
Well, seriously, it is quite difficult to effectively and efficiently swear at someone in Urdu. Gali bhi do tau lagta hai ta’areef ker rahay hain. I think this is one of the reasons why doing slapstick/situational comedy in Urdu is quite difficult. The complexity of the language is suited to dialog-based British style comedy.

These are their personal relationships, they can stand in a line, will definitely stop if they see someone dying on road, decide their on careers and good thing is they don't close library for women citing that boys will start visiting library if women are allowed in.
that happened?
it has been a hot topic in India because Maulana Azad Library of AligaRh Muslim University has been closed for female students because male students flock there not to study but to harass the female students.
to stop this nonsense, the vice chancellor of AMU who is a retired army colonel [he is the brother of Bollywood veteran actor Nasiruddin Shah] banned the female students to come to the main library to avoid such scenes from happening. this harassment of female students by male students has been a huge problem. the police can NOT enter the campus unless called by the university administration. they don't call police because the students become irate when they see police on the campus.
female undergrad students have their own college and library. the female graduate and professional course students have NOT been allowed ever since the university came into existence after sunset. the main and the department seminar libraries have been issuing text books to female students from 5 pm to 8 am the next day. this has been a the tradition for a long long time.
i think it has nothing to do with gender discrimination but rather everything to do with administrative policies. it's NOT safe for girls to go to library after dark anyways.
i think what they must do is to create a women ONLY section within the library.
some one say its because of being darbari langauge. for khushamad you got so many options, but for gali not so many options.
waise bhi baqol Mustaque Ahmed Yusufi ‘insan gali, gana aur ginti ke liye apni madri zaban hi kaam lata hai’. so may be ihl e zaban know more galiyan than us

The problem could have been solved years ago if those harassing the female students had been kicked out of the university.
Anyways, interesting bit.
I used to go to a library in Lahore where a lot of students preparing for Civil Service Examination also used to come and study. I noticed that every few months, the females would be different but same male students kept coming.
Intrigued, I asked one of the guys I made friend with. He said that the females would 'befriend' the male students, and then get loads of help from them for their exam preparation. The result: females would pass the exam and males would fail since they didn't study for their own examinations but spent most of the time 'helping' the girls. .
meraa tajurba to yeh kahtaa hai k India meN kam az kam Ghusse meN log gaaliyaaN English meN nikaalte haiN jo 'aam logoN kii samajh meN nahiiN aatii lihaaza piTne kaa Khatra kam hotaa hai.
... How the heck does anyone read Urdu? Seems tougher than Chinese, Japanese and Korean combined...
Yes, I would agree it is quite difficult. Specially since the shapes of individual characters change depending on their position in a word (beginning, middle or end). Also, the alphabet is quite large, having added letters from Arabic, Persian and Hindi phonetics.

no, with mobile and modern technology it has gone viral because male students try to give their electronic contact numbers/addresses and harass them to give their contacts.
it wasn't the case back in old days. female students were not allowed on the campus after dark for safety reasons as a precautionary measure.
lol...sounds interesting. laRke to vaise bhii nahiiN paRhte likhte...maiN jab tak India meN thaa meraa bhii yehii Haal thaa...paRhna kam aur tafreeH karnaa ziyaada.
