Re: Urdu in different areas

**shudh Hindi has purely Hindi words while saqeel urdu would have purely urdu/farsii alfaaz mostly. unfortunately, both are hard for the commoners to understand.

it is also erroneous to conclude that urdu is a Muslims' language. even NOW, there are a huge number of urdu-daaN who are Hindu/Sikh/Christian. Urdu has suffered in India because of this wrong notion.

Urdu has also been discriminated in Pakistan on the false assumption that the language somehow belongs to mohaajirs. it's a sad affair.**

cheque bounce-back ho jay ga :whistling:

Re: Urdu in different areas

Bounce back ki urdu ki hogi!!

Aur cheque ki urdu kiya hogi. One more thing, 'Cheque' spelling sahi hai ya nahi. MS Word hamesha iss spelling k neeche red line dikhata hai, aur maine ek bank main 'Chaque' likha hua dekha!

Mazeed bounce back se mujhe ek Urdu ka purana lafz yaad aya 'Ghaban', Munshi Prem Chand Ya phir shayad Bedi ke ek novel ka naam bhi 'Ghaban' hai.

Re: Urdu in different areas

Hyderabadi pronounce Qaaf as Khey.

Interestingly they do name their children Qadir or Qaiser.

har technical word kaa **"tarjumalation"**** karne se koi faaida nahiiN aur agar kar bhii koii le to use aam aadmii samajhegaa bhii nahiiN. masalan, agar koi laptop ko aaGhosh nashiiN kahe to kitne log use samjheNge?

Canadian/US/UK kii English meN farq hai...UK aur Canada meN yaksaaniyat hai jab k amriikanoN ne saare spellings badal diye, Khowaah vo lafz neighbour ho yaa centre ho yaa checque ho...Canada meN to aaj bhii British spellings kaa rivaaj hai.

cheque ko urdu meN *ruqq'a yaa hunDii yaa checque* kahte haiN aur checque bounce ho jaaye to use urdu meN 'aam taur per kahte haiN k *inkaarii-e-ruqq'a* ho gayaa magar cheque dishonour ho jaanaa yaa cheque bounce ho jaanaa ziyaada 'aam-fehm hai :)**

Re: Urdu in different areas

I think lyrics of this song are in Hyderabadi Urdu. ‘Raatan’ 'Bataan, ‘Dildaariyan’, ‘Muradaan’, ‘Mulaqatan’!
