MAKY as we called him when he was President of our Bank (1974-1979) is in our hearts...
Yusufi Uncle has been a huge source of inspiration to every person having an iota of that special taste for wit and specialized poetry.
He is very much on the list folks...but before that...here's an anecdote you all may enjoy;

His famous poem “BILLO KA BASTA” (written inspired by his own sister BIRJIS BANO..a.k.a BILLO) was included in the syallabus of school books)
IBNE INSHA’s famous columns in JANG and AKHBAR E KHAWATEEN…were most popular to all and sundry; B’A QALAM KHUDD - BAATEIN INSHAJEE KI - DAKHALL DARR MA’QOOLAAT.
Inshajee also translated many great short stories of the world…his favorite short story writer was ED GRALIN PAU. The family of Insha Chacha comprised of talented people. His sister NADRA KHATOON turned out to be a popular novelist of her times (early 70’s) and his brother Mahmood Riaz established a publishing house. His other two sisters; Birjis (Billo) and Meedoo (Hameeda) however..did not take up on his skills and talents.
Ibne Insha became my dad’s (Jamiluddin Aali) one of the few of the closest friend..we have seen since Writers Guild was established (1959) and since then till his sad demise due to Throat Cancer (12 January-1978 in London..where he was posted at the Pak Embassy) it was like meeting Insha Chacha and his family…almost every day.
My father was so taken aback on Insha Chacha’s death that he literally went off from poetic gatherings etc for almost two years. Rememberance to Insha Chacha, he also wrote his famous poem…which at one point say’s;
“JAANE KIYON LOGOUN KI NAZAREIN…UNN TUKK PHAUNCHEE HUM NE TOW,
CHAND NAGAR KE INSHA SAHEB…AALI JINN KA HAALA THAH…
NAQD-E-SUKHAN MEIN ZIKR YE AYA…DOHAY PARRH NE WALA THAH…”
On 27th October 1959, Insha Chacha gave me this autograph;
In January 1961, he wrote a special poem for me…(based on my real name)
ZULQARNAIN..ZULQARNAIN…KIYA HAI TERA NAS’BUL AIN…

I am a witness to ZIA SHOW of 1973 by PTV-K when IBNE INSHA and my Dad were invited to participate by Zia Uncle…in his show at Fleet Club-Karachi recorded before a live audience. The 3rd famous personality invited was Runa Laila…and that show was a smasher with Insha Chacha’s wisecracks and adlibs including some of his famous verses..then…well combined with dad’s tete-e-tete with him and Zia.
There are around 20 websites which have huge material on Insha Chacha.
My thoughts and facts came from my MIND & MEMORIES without any referral to any website or google…except that I did get some help on his very early days from my (ailing) Dad…
Kya jhagra sood khasarey ka
Yeh kaam nahi banjarey ka
Sab sona ropa lay jayee
Sab dunya dunya lay jayee
Tum aik mujhey behteri ho
Aik bar kaho tum meri ho
Mushtaq Ahmed Yusufi in Zia Muhaudiidn’s voice Just 4 u:hehe:
Aik buniyadi fraq zaroor zehan main rakhna chahiy ky Europeion furniture bythny ky liy hota hy or ham koi aisi cheez per nahi baithty ji sper lait na sakin misal main dari,. qaleen jazim , chandni, charpai kochay yar or pehloy dildar ko pysh kiya ja sakta hy.
han albata aik cheez aisi thi jisy hukmranon ka Takht kaha jata tha magar jab osi per unhin latka ker, phir lita ker nehla diya jata tu Takhta kehlata tha:rotfl:
There is one thing that always saddens me. Many of us learned about Yusufi from anwar maqsood and zia mohiyuddin. Not that I am not grateful to these two individuals, but when and why did we move away from reading and got into listening so much that we rather listen to urdu nasr, recited by someone, then to pick that book and read it.
