The police and the authorities were reluctant to investigate the issue properly because they feared being accused of racial discrimination against Pakistanis. This is such shameful behavior by these men pf Pakistani origin and points to a cultural problem. Accepting the reality would be the first step; going into denial mode straightaway is deplorable.

Written by Prof Alexis Jay, a former chief inspector of social work, the investigation concluded that the council knew as far back as 2005 of sexual exploitation being committed on a wide scale by mostly Asian men, yet failed to act.

The news is genuine, but @Ajju's commentary is way off.
@COLD_FIRE, even though the news article did not mention it, some of the victims identified the perpetrators as mainly Pakistani.

The strange thing is that it’s not really happening in the capital.. I think it’s a mixture of cultural and socio-economic factors causing these problems..

Whenever I go onto a brit newspaper there's always an article on some Asian gang (mostly Muslim) being arrested for pimping out girls. This has been going on for years for me at least. At least have the common courtesy to pimp out your own Pakistani 14 year old.

I am sorry but I dont believe that the Police and the Council were worried about racism. Thats just an excuse and they are now trying to cover it up as they were worried that they did not want to discriminate. Look at stop and search, how many Asian/Black people are targeted?

The cultural problem is to think that white westerners have no morals and family values. That their women are loose and to be abused. Pakistanis are the one with good Islamic morals and family values.

I'm sorry to say but there have been many cases of British Pakistanis around the UK grooming and raping underage girls. There are of course paedophiles in all communities but there is a disproportionate amount of cases involving British Pakistanis in cities like Rotherham, Blackpool, Birmingham, snd Oxford to mention a few.
The guardian btw is not one of those Islamophobic papers that is more the Daily mail or the Suns department.

I couldn't give a rats arse of Britain's problem...this is THERE problem...they isolated these folks, they created it...they fix it.

They will be in jail for life. However this does seem to be a cultural issue, not sure what that issue is but cases like this only ever seem to involve Pakistanis. Not paedophile cases in general but cases involving large amounts of underage girls who are living in care, being plied with drink and drugs, trafficked between each other etc etc. However Pakistanis like on this thread cry foul and pretend its nothing to do with them. Well it has because they are running your name in the mud whether you like it or not.
