Re: Unwanted Guests

Dear MQ,

Are you Aunties Pakistani Natives?

What I mean is..

Do they normally speak english or Urdu..etc?

What language do use when talking with them?

Maybe you could invite just the Aunties over for a card party, or some kind of game night...or tea..or lunch or something??

Maybe then you could get to know each other better?

By Aunties I suppose these are either your mothers or fathers sisters? Their kids are your cousins? If yes perhaps you and your cousins could together invite the aunties for a get together...this way you'd have some backup..lol :)

If your Aunties are your moms generation or even older...often hard to find common activities to do and things to talk about. Sometimes playing a game, cooking, or doing dishes together helps with relationships. Sometimes the older ones would rather congregrate with those of their generation...just because they have more in common.

The fact that they always ask after you...symbolic that they care about you.

Sort of a fun game to play with relatives is penny po-kee-no..but can be played without gambling for pennies..would depend on how your family feels about gambling...though you could supply all the pennies....or candies..whatever.

Another fun game is telephone...lol...sit in a circle sortof...and whisper something in the ear to the person next to you...they have to add something..and so on....and the last individual hearing says out loud the gossip...:) Can be pretty funny sometimes..

Re: Unwanted Guests

yeah thats what i have always heard too  i hate unwanted guests specially aunties .

Re: Unwanted Guests

I love getting with my Aunties sometimes.

However...

I do know that my mom..along with her sisters..(My Aunties)...and excluding everyone else.... often rather like doing a get-together....P.J. party...a remember when we were kids kind of ritiual...

Mom's Auntie saved every letter anyone ever wrote to her.....recently we find a box of letters, drawings, and valentines dating from the 1940's thru the 1960's to Auntie by my mom and her brothers and sisters when they were kids...

They are a laugh riot.

My grandfather used to make my mom and her brothers and sisters write letters wheneve mention or complaint that included the words "nothing to do ".....:)

Re: Unwanted Guests

AvgAmericanGirl – Thanks for all the helpful advice. :flower1:

Actually I have no issues with aunties who are related to me. I meant the aunties as in my parents far and distant friends. Or families of dads business friends etc. These people I might see once or twice and never again. But again your advice is helpful, and I love playing telephone!

Re: Unwanted Guests
