Unusual Trend

I am seeing a trend developing. I have so far lent money to THREE friends in my entire life. None of them returned the loan ranging from a few hundred to five thousand dollars. All three of them were from Karachi.

Now, should I be wary of Karachi guys or would I be stereotyping?

try asking them to return the money. that might help.

well the be straight forward and up front with them. are you scared of them? you gave them money and they should return it in your life time. go and be tough with them.

Zain, do you know how to read. I am not asking for ways to get my money back. I posted in Culture because I want to know if this illness is largely associated with Karachi walas.

Oh man. FF, are you serious?. Same here. The one who borrowed $5K 3 years ago is a filthy rich guy too. But he tells me that a lot of people (mostly karachites) ate up his money so now he feels justified by not returning my money. I told him that I am not from Karachi ( I kind of lied bc I have a Karachi connection if you go back a couple of generations).

PS. Please check your PM. I sent you the three names and their mail addresses.

It could very well be due to the fact that they come from a bigger metropolitan city and feel they can manipulate small city dwellers like you and me. I have heard horror stories where they would go on a borrowing spree and then disappear for life. I wonder where do they disappear to. And these guys also think they made someone a Murgha by not returning their money.

I would be very hesitant in lending another friend any money. Specially if he is from Karachi.

The elder guy is the one who borrowed $5k. He is the filthy rich one. Drives a Corvette. His $500K house is paid off. Wears lots of gold chains and stuff. And I let him borrow bc he seemed to be the least risk of not returning. But guess what... three years and 150 calls later I am still short changed of $5K or roughly 3 Lakh Rupees.

best way to solve this mystry be by lending a hefty amount to a Lahori guy like me.. I love u my friend

Karachi kay loge buhat achay hotay hein.

not to stereotype or anything lekin baqi dunya intihayi behooda hay.

FG

i had one islamabadi and one karachite borrow money from me in college and did not return it. The karachite owed me 700 bucks... Moi being the ghunda type took his stereo and his entire cd collection.. worth more than 700, i mean I would have liked the money cuz i had a stereo already..but i sold the stereo and the cd's and covered my losses.

the islamabdi guy unfortunately was my room mate, owed me about 1100 bucks, i kept asking him, until the end when I had the phone transferred in his name cuz i was moving and then started charging people 50% of the going rate to use the phone to call back home. I recovered all the money plus some. I made him suffer..did the exact same he had done..yes i will give it next month, next week..

kameenay log dont listen to sharafat, sometimes you have to become a bigger kameena..

the second jackass, he started crying and boo hoo, getting mad at me for screwing him over. had his parents call my parents so he can get the money to pay the bill, bad mouthed me to everyone.. all along i had never told anyone that he had borrowed money for over a year and had not paid it back..he was a typical kameena insaan..when i gave him the money i called him and told him..that now you feel what it felt like for me, that u need the money and I am spending it here and there but just not giving it to you and pay my debt....remember thsi feeling next time you try to screw someone over.

FG...sharafatis fine, but be assertive, if u have proof of the loan...tell em to pay up or take em to small claims court

I am so sure I have seen this thread somewhere before, with all of funguy's complaints and mr frauds' story too.

Haha, you loaned your money to a Sindhi and you expect it back! I'm presuming they were Sindhis, similar to Indian Sindhis who trace their lineage to Karachi.
